As the window draws to a close and one player has signed who looks to be a player that will drop into the hole and help from deep in our ranks, a position we all agreed we might’ve lacked depth in, I kind of wonder as a club should we be exploiting the January window slightly better especially as we are building tremendous form and pushing into European spots.

With the new set up in European competitions playing 6/8 guaranteed games depending on straight qualification the money is there to be made, I can’t help feel giving our ties with a pyramid system set up and clear potential to elevate players status and experience it would be a win win situation to throw a wee but more caution to the wind and try to unlock a couple of players ready to move on now as apposed to the summer window. Even a Blow your socks off loan much like Maolida, not to say we aren’t trying but I do feel we could lock in this great form by plugging certain areas now and reaping the full benefits later.

Never as cut and dry as explained above but it’s just a feeling that hibs sometimes never fully take advantage of situations like this, I’m sure talent has been identified but a real shot in the arm would surely be a lovely wee loan or transfer that puts our rivals on the back foot and take notice whilst galvanising the support to believe that we truly intend to kick on and make 3rd place ours this season.

Strike whilst the irons hot so to speak. Maybe it’s in the works already. 😉

in November we were bottom of the league, but now we are on a history making unbeaten run. Bringing players in doesn’t always benefit a team ( look at Aberdeen). We have a balance, a belief within the squad and a team spirit like we haven’t seen for many years. Bring in 3 or 4 new faces and you can disrupt that without improving. We have a limited budget, better to spend wisely. The window isn’t shut yet, anyway.
