If we had a million to throw at McGowan I’d be chucking it at Sunderland. The laddie will make us millions in a few years time.

I can’t see Sunderland letting him go for a reasonable fee. Mind you, English clubs have a very poor opinion of Scottish football and Sunderland might have reservations about his prospects in England and accept few quid for him.

Depends imo - Sunderland get promoted and they’re suddenly in a different league of signing, if they stay in the championship it would be more difficult.

Getting him on a permanent is a top priority but I’ll wager clubs are already hovering about down south and abroad - an athlete and his technical game has markedly improved, he’s very much like Rogic.

They’ll easily be able to sell to a team in the Championship for several times what we could afford to pay for him.

If Triantis was our player and someone offered a million for him, we’d be saying how it’s typical for English teams to take the Mickey out of us in terms of valuation.

He’s the real deal. I’m enjoying the watching him in a Hibs shirt for every minute I can.

Does a lot of good things then spoils it by doing a couple of daft things like giving the ball away

Looks classy driving us forward and threading the ball through the opposition

A well deserved MOTM today starting to look undroppable

300k for a player who is looking like being our POTY whilst on loan from the English championship would be the steal of the decade.

Possibly but I’m hoping Manneh is a cut above whilst being Cheeaper

If you looked at him individually there was as many bad touches as good touches.

Credit that should be tempered by the fact that we really, really needed a centre-half that January and we signed a midfielder disguised as one.

fwiw Sunderland paid £300k for him from Central Coast Mariners, his stock has increased and i'm sure he will be getting a bigger salary at his parent club

Sunderland are well in the mix for at least a play-off spot if they do go up to the land of milk and honey they will need better than present so may well offload but if they remain in championship they could well give him a chance, i just can't see another season long loan at us as they will need to put him in the championship shop window in the last year of his contract, imo

He's got really good close ball control.

The only thing I'd say is he sometimes drifts out a game. The game at Tynecastle he was outstanding for the first half hour as were Hibs, he then fell out the game a bit and so did Hibs. I think it's noticeable that when Hibs play well in periods during games, Triantis is heavily involved. We should be trying to get him involved as much as possible and Triantis imposing himself on the game for longer periods. He's making us tick at the moment, hopefully Newell back, Levitt finding a bit form and Manneh to come in and help will ease the burden on him a bit

Bournemouth should be signing him and loaning him to us - makes sense but easier said than done..

Good to finally have someone in midfield who is always involved - I also think he’s played better since Newell has been injured - not a dig at Newell but just seems more confident.

Dunno about that. For a 21 yo he’s already looking a cut above in our league and clearly still improving.

Thought he was a bit off it first 20 mins or so but came onto a game.

Regis Le Bris must develop plan for Nectarios Triantis ahead of 2025/26 season21-year-old Australian midfielder Triantis has developed incredibly during his stint with Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership after notching an incredible six goal contributions in his last eight league matches.
As a result, it is safe to suggest that Triantis will return from his loan spell with Hibs as a completely transformed player, having more-than held his own in a top league.
Because of this, Sunderland boss Le Bris must have a plan of action ready for the Australian (https://www.sunderlandafc.news/news/regis-le-bris-has-big-decision-to-make-on-sunderland-loanee-after-his-latest-goal-hes-in-top-form/), who will certainly be first-team ready on his return. Triantis will be crucial in adding squad depth to the defensive-midfield region, and it must be made clear to him that his spell away from the club has moulded him into a player ready for Le Bris’ side.

Not surprising - the only thing that is surprising is referring to the Premiership as a "top league".

I kind of agree. I think he is a really good player for Hibs and the level we are playing at. But I don’t currently see him as someone who is destined for bigger things. I’m not saying he can’t play at a higher level, he may well do but he doesn’t stand out in the way say, John McGinn, did.

This site is pretty bad for both extremes - massively over-egging how bad a player is and also talking up players to a level they aren’t at.

I remember this site waxing lyrical about Will Fish and how he was apparently a future Hibs captain if we could keep him, but we likely wouldn’t as he was destined for the English Prem. It wouldn’t surprise me if his high watermark turns out being his time at Hibs.

Hope Triantis keeps this upturn in form going and he is a key player for us but I’m yet to be sold that he’s quite as special as some on here seem to think.

Consistency has impressed me. Joe Newell can turn it on in midfield, but it feels like it’s one game out of every 5. Triantis is an 8/10 every week.

His tackle in the first minute yesterday was clean and hard, Clancy was never going to let that slide.

The tackle was clean and hard alright and a word would have been enough if Clancy wasn’t happy with it imo … after that I thought Triantis done really well in not reacting to what I thought was the Ayr players trying to wind him up , must have done at least 3/4 fouls on him .

A proper old school tackle.

Won the ball cleanly with harmless contact on the opponent afterwards.

But in modern football that's a recipe for the opponent feigning injury and the referee looking for an offence to be punished.

I agree. He is an improving young player but his lack of pace and his choice of passes let him down for me and might hinder his development at higher level in England. He is growing in confidence at Hibs no question but hard to gauge where he will find his level.Like to see him continue at Hibs though for another season.

The least appalling of the midfield, which is like Willie Thorne turning up to an Alopecia Anonymous meeting and acting like he's got a luscious mullet.

Trod on the ball and hoofed it nowhere infinity more times than he did anything creative. Pitch can't have helped, but he was poor.
