View Full Version : Why are we not selling upper deck to Aberdeen today?

Genuine question - sounds like Aberdeen sold out the lower tier a couple of days ago but we are not opening the upper tier, despite the fact we could sell more tickets there and increase the revenue.
I can't imagine why any club wouldn't want to maximise its revenue (unless there was a Taste & Decency issue like when we cut the British allocation when the Rangers and their hate-filled British hordes want to come and trash our city) I get it when we cut the British allocation.
But Aberdeen are pretty decent - good European / Scottish support, with none of the British nonsense that Rangers try to bring.
So why are we not opening the top tier and making more money today?

Should be put in top tier only every game as well as others when coming to Easter Road in my opinion.
If they get a full allocation then so be it however like today with only getting the lower why not just put them in the top tier.

Is it possible it’s not worth it financially to open the top tier with extra stewards and opening kiosks etc? Other than that the less away fans the better.

Aberdeen will inform us of expected numbers and the allocation will be decided around that. It may not be possible to staff, police the top tier at just a couple of days notice. It may also be cost prohibitive for the sake a a few dozen additional tickets being sold.

Demand for tickets to watch Aberdeen has diminished since they clinched the league title back in September.

Doesn't look like they've sold out the bottom tier at this point

I think clubs should get together and get rid of the pettyness.why should we put them in the top tier to give them a ***** experience? Do you go to killie/Motherwell etc when they do it to us.? It's pish. Fans first

The back of the Killie stand is OK, but I agree about Fir Park.
I don't think Motherwell did a good job with the design on that one.

Clearly they haven’t sold out the bottom tier.
Edit: it’s filled up now. Must’ve been a late bus filling the seats in front of the police windows.

Far better having them in the lower tier IMO, adds to the overall atmosphere of the game. Having big empty sections of seating near the pitch just looks terrible. And as today's game proved it didn't have any negative effect on our result.

I wasn’t born in Scotland and consider myself British . I find the pathetic ScotNat posturing that you seem to want to fit into every post insulting in the way that you link my nationality to Neanderthal football fans.

It looks terrible on TV to have loads of empty seats at pitch level.

They never put fans first from the away side of things plus Motherwell sometimes and Killie always put us up the top so don't see why it's so unfair if we do that was all. Wasn't mean in a bad way.
But I appreciate that it looks terrible mind you?

Last time at Fir Park a steward told us it was due to broken seats in the lower tier caused by the Green Brigade not long before our game.

I'm Scottish first and only British because it says so on my passport... but I totally agree with you, there's no need for that kind of rhetoric.

Am I the only one who prefers to watch football from the top tier at Fir Park? The view is miles better from up there, it’s actually very good imo.
I don’t love being too low when behind the goals because you don’t see the far end as well.

The view in the top tier there is good if you’re at the front. If not, you’re struggling to see the goals at that end as soon as anyone is on their feet.

There seemed to be a big number of what you’d maybe describe as veteran casual types within the Aberdeen support yesterday.
A load walked up Albion Road then as soon they arrived at the junction at Albion Place they then stood next to the police to engage in some pretty toe curling posturing, theatrics and goading passing Hibs fans safe in the knowledge that no physical combat would take place.
The Hibs fans just appeared to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. Some of them looked like they’d be able to travel to the game with their free bus pass.

I was passing when that happened. Mostly guys in their 40/50s. Quite embarrassing with them shouting at hibbies going to the game with kids etc. strange how 2 cops held them back🤣🤣

Seen that too - total bunch of belters especially the couple of wasted baldy guys.

The uglies can fill their grounds with their own supporters.
Unfortunately, we can't get close to filling ours against any team other than Hearts.
So not comparable.

Hope they enjoyed the game and had a miserable journey home.

I mentioned that in the match thread. They didn't utter a word along Albion Road, then only piped up and acted the big man as soon so they had a barrier and one policewoman for safety. Was pretty funny, top cowardice.

This point gets brought up so many times. What do people fail to see. Just give Celtic/Rangers half their allocation blah blah blah. We can't afford to throw thousands down the drain. Also don't see the impact of us blocking off the corners.

All away fans should be housed in upper tier only. Hearts the exception.
