New podcast from "the warm up" on YouTube, have not listened to it yet but read an article which efe says he was on trial at man city before joining Celtic but his club Ashdod blocked the chance for City to have continue his trial and play a bounce game. Says city were impressed with him and wanted another look.

Great player for us.

He was brilliant for us. A Rolls Royce of a defender at this level (the same was true at Celtic really, it was the CL he was found wanting a bit).

There was/is always chat about 'Efe moments' but I must have missed most of them. With about 3 exceptions I remember him as rock solid for us.

I absolutely loved Efe at Hibs. Great player and a great watch.
Couldn't believe he went downhill so quickly after leaving.
Credit to Lennon who really managed to get the most out of him.

I'd agree with all that :agree:

Guy was class should never have left but for the root of all evil would have won POTY easy

Struggling to think of any howlers tbh Aberdeen and Killie away maybes but always seemed to get away with it using his speed and class to get himself out of trouble could play with slippers on smoking a cigar

A joy to watch

Best defender I've ever seen at the club.

Your heart was in your mouth when Efie was on the ball but his class got him out of tricky situations. The only games that come to mind was Aberdeen away when Mackay stevens kinda gave him the runaround and the killie game away were he was played in midfield and the game ran by him.

What a player, have we had a better player in that position? Blackley in my lifetime, but cant think of any others?

He had a few clangers at Celtic that created a reputation that he never shifted. He was rock solid for us and I was gutted when he left.

I’m sure the clangers were against the likes of Juve and Barca. He was largely very good for Celtic as well.

One of the best defenders I've seen in my lifetime. Was a proper player. Miss big Efe

Cetainly up there with Murphy as the best defensive player I've seen at Hibs. I remember watching him play for Dunfermline in a relegation/promotion playoff game 2 or 3 years ago and he had lost a wee bit of pace, that which would get him out of trouble in the past had kind of gone by that point. Great player on his day though.

Funnily enough I think that was at the time where Peter Lawwell's son was at Man City. Wonder if he's phoned his old man up after the move fell through to pitch it to him.
