First part of a 2 part interview.

Whatever happens to him as hibs manager, what an utterly sound guy he is. I know folk have said it before, but I’ve never wanted a manager to succeed more than him. So balanced which is clearly why the players all would run through walls for him. An absolute legend of a man.

Derek McGregor comes across well too. Gray clearly liked by the media for his manner.

I enjoyed that and it gives further hope that DG will be a success.

It also puts to bed the myth that he was the only candidate. He "went through the process" and was interviewed, as normal.

If he'd been a shoo-in, they wouldn't have scheduled his interview, 3 days into his family holiday.

Onwards and upwards.

Just watched it. It's a must watch. Loved him before, but my man love has gone up to a whole new level. Very down to earth, very measured, very reassuring. Can see how he won the interview process. Genuinely hope he's our Manager for many years to come. Ps really hope the Black Knight guys watch this, can't help but worry that they might bin him in the summer. They won't always get it right like they have done with Bournemouth.

What a guy.

A shining example of what we started to get right with our transfer policy under Dempster & co. Faultlessly professional, determined, and talented. Now, deservingly, our manager.

You don’t sign many players that have the attributes necessary to go on and manage the club. Putting character at the forefront of our requirements was instrumental in that.

He comes across really well. You can see why players would get fully behind him.

He's here!

Excellent interview. You get the impression Gray has put in a power of work during his coaching days to ready himself for the manager's job.

Good watch / listen.

No one should have any doubt now that he is the man to take us forward.

I was certainly 100% wrong about him.

Legend!

He was never out of his depth! We just had a shocking run of individual errors and poor VAR decisions.

I don't think I have ever wanted a Hibs manager to succeed as much as Dave. A thoroughly decent chap. Looks like his charity cycle will go ahead again this year so if anyone fancies standing where SDG stood with the trophy then you will never get a better opportunity. It was brilliant last time and hopefully lots of fans get involved for a great cause

Great interview and well worth a watch. So proud we have SDG as our leader and he embodies our club 100%.

I know that it's not exactly the revelation of the century but telling us his focus on making players better and recruiting a coaching team who love and understand Hibernian FC is music to my ears.

I was brought up in an era where Eddie Turnbull and the Tornadoes were down to earth men that our supporters could relate to.

I want my club to put the chaos of the past few years under the Gordons behind us and build a settled side. We are now better structurally off the pitch and in our management personnel.

Regardless of where we finish in the league this year I'm feeling optimistic about the future. I feel that I'm getting my Hibs back at last.

Even during our atrocious run I liked Gray's interviews. He speaks really well.

As managers interviews go David Gray comes across as good as any I’ve heard , also during the bad run I thought he handled the situation very well . Great interview that’s well worth watching.

That was actually great, was hesitant because it was “The Sun” but if you ignore that and listen it’s great !

Enjoy him while you can hibbys think he is on the up and up. Like collins and mcginn in my lifetime watching hibs got a bad feeling sir david will be sought after by clubs with a higher budget. we are so lucky to have him in charge of our beloved club .legend as a player and potentially a legend as a manager the run around the xmas period was phenomenal. lets hope he continues against the sheep today.

He's certainly proving his worth after looking on the brink of the sack. Big character.

Great interview - someone saying “why is he doing it with that rag”. I get the sentiment but perhaps legally obliged but also great it not being Hibs TV bias and some good questioning leading to a top interview

I need to hold my hands up. On the “out his depth” thread, I was very much thinking that Gray should not be the Hibs manager, there was just FAR FAR to much to do with this squad and the lack of acceptable results they had shown.

The start to the season certainly compounded my views and as the interview alludes too, I’m utterly amazed he made it to the Aberdeen game. That Dundee performance was up there with one of the worst.

We ALL want SDG to succeed but I didn’t want us to be a “learn on the job” team. The league is guff and I want to experience European football yearly as a supporter, and I felt SDG had blown it.

This interview just highlights actually he was the right guy but was perhaps not supported by the board in the summer. What a turnaround and I’m sure as a fan base, we want no one else leading it. He will have a few more tests to come which he still has to prove himself but he’s got our backing I’m sure
