Really important game this Saturday.

A win would take us to 33 points just 2 points behind the Dons which is wild considering the starts we both had.

We have 9 games left before the split - including Celtic and Hearts home and Rangers away.

We also travel to Dundee Utd, Killie and St Mirren away so we need to be winning our home games ideally.

Can’t see us changing much from starting 11.

Got to win if we have any ambitions to try and push for third.

I think it’s going to be a fairly low points total required for third this year but we probably need to win more games in our remaining 14 than we have in our previous 24 if we want to challenge for it. It’s one of our better opportunities for a win in the remaining games, got to get the job done.

We need to win to stay in the top 6.
It will only take a couple of defeats, or continuing with the run of draws, in the games before the split to see us slipping back down the table.
With only 6 points separating 5th and 11th we really need to get back to winning. Drawing against St J and RC may yet prove to be very costly.

Didn't realise our remaining games were as difficult. Dropping points to St Johnstone and County could be massive.

Really need a win this weekend, can see it happening though!

We tend to do better against better teams. We're really struggling with the low block just now.

Dundee Utd penalty home - 90 mins
St J away penalty away - 48 mins just before HT
Killie away penalty - 92 mins
Ross County x2 pens - 2nd pen 87th min.

That’s 8 points dropped in those games. Add those points on and we are 3rd.

Frustrating as a couple of them, IMO, aren’t penalties (Dundee Utd and Ross County although you could still argue the Dundee Utd one was an error on our part as the shirt pull was lazy and unnecessary). The St Johnstone and Kilmarnock ones were the kind of mistakes that have killed us in games we should have won. Our inability to keep a clean sheet is going to cost us. When you look at the examples above, in most games we’ve had very little to do defensively.

Best form of defence for us is definitely attack. Hopefully another three goals on Saturday and we should win the game.

Article below on Aberdeen's collapse.

This is their only goal in their last 7 games and they were a bit lucky to even get that.

https://youtu.be/fBAlA7od4ho?si=FslDCGPjgoDwbPUT&t=113

Should be a win for us if we can avoid giving away any penalties and keep 11 on the pitch. I'll take any win but it would be good to get one with a clean sheet.

I think this one is going to be far tougher than many folk think. Yes Aberdeen are going through a slump, but as this season has shown anybody can beat anybody in this league bar Celtic, even Sevco aren't immune to dropping points in games you think they should win.

Basically nothing is guaranteed, but once again we have what looks like a 'must win' game if we are to have hopes of a top 6 finish. Hoping there will be a big crowd for this one following a more than decent turnout against Motherwell, even if it was a Hibs kids game.

I'll be surprised if it's easy. They seem to be in freefall but Aberdeen's awful run has to end some time. Hopefully we can get a couple of goals to the good to demoralise them but I'd take any win.

It’s not must win as far as top six goes. It is if we are serious about trying to push for third though. We’ve dropped points in games we shouldn’t have lately, can’t drop more on Saturday. Got a tough few games coming up in the rest of February.

Why would you be surprised if it's an easy game, if our players are on it they should win this comfortably. About this time last year after an away defeat to Killie. Neil Warnock was moaning about a side that had no leaders, no talkers, no aggression and no fight. After a defeat at Killie about a month ago Thelin effectively alluded to the same thing.

Jimmy Thelin gives his thoughts on our Boxing Day defeat. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CI9YuAR9Q30)

I would rather be in our position than theirs. FWIW I would be surprised if they turned up and give us the game they did last time. I guess it is possible they could but I just don't see it in them at the moment.

There are rarely any easy games in the SPL.

It's not often Hibs coast to victory against anybody. Apart from the 0v3 game at Motherwell in November, all of the points gained since then have been hard earned.

Fingers crossed we score early and put the pressure on a team low in confidence.

As an aside, fair play to the Aberdeen support for selling out their ticket allocation during what has been a absolutely dreadful run of form for them.

Not confident about this one

They’re surely due a win and historically I feel like whenever a team are due a win or a striker hasn’t scored in a while then it seems to happen to us.

Hopefully an early goal and then the Aberdeen team and fans crumble

I still think Aberdeen have some really good players, their form is bizarre imo. Going to be a tough game

Id say it is a must win game if we have any dreams of third, our team has shown this season that were actually quite strong, have dominated games but finishing games was the problem, need to win on Saturday 100%

0-3 looks like a gubbing but from what I saw of the highlights Aberdeen actually looked like they had numerous decent chances but were undone by some truly pitiful defending.

Maybe we will turn them over. Another 6-0 perchance? Here's hoping. I just feel it's rash to suggest it's pretty much a gimme.

It’s in no way a gimme. We’ve only won 7 games all season at the end of the day.

But this is very much a game we should be looking to win. Even when they were getting results I wasn’t impressed by Aberdeen. Right attitude, don’t sit back at any point and get the job done.

I have the same doubts - they surely can't stay this bad for this long? And teams to seem to have a habit of ending losing streaks when they play us. I think an early Hibs goal will take the wind out of the sheep.

Hibs have won only 1 league game in their last 4 after not being able to beat Ross Co and 10 man St Johnstone.
We have missed the Youan X factor in those games and will miss him again tomorrow.
Our opponents Aberdeen have failed to win any of their last 4 games.
That points towards a draw or a defensive error being decisive.

Home advantage Hibs and a slightly fitter Bowie and Kuharevych will hopefully help.
Probably our last league game without Newell, Ekpiteta and Youan if he remains beyond Monday.

Hibs probably need to win tomorrow to stay ahead of St Mirren who play St J tomorrow.
A win would also take us up to 5th above Motherwell who play Cellik on Sunday.

I might be wrong but going by what Gray has been saying regarding Bowie I get the feeling he won’t be starting against Aberdeen so I’d expect much the same team again, only change I could possibly see us making is Myko for Gayle possibly ? …

Watched the last game they played and the defence , keeper looked like they are there to be got at , get at them from the off and a early goal for us could see them hopefully cave in to another few hopefully …

This will not be an easy game for us tomorrow. I expect Aberdeen to put up a McInnes type dark arts performance owed to their dire run of form. Not to difficult to see us getting bogged down in that.

A great opportunity to get three points you would think but far from easy.

Big game and a must win to really squeeze the teams above us closer together. We have a few of the trickier games coming up so a home game against anyone bar Celtic / Huns is one that we should be going out to win 3 points.

Worryingly one loss and it suddenly feels a little bit far away again with a pack of teams close in behind us.

Keep the momentum going and a good chance to move up a place this weekend.

This will be a tough game for us. Aberdeen were in a false position at the start of the season with their confidence boosting turbo charged start. But by the same token they are nowhere near as bad as they’ve seemed in this terrible slump. They have a very good squad by SPL standards and are due to turn it around soon. I just hope it’s not today.
