He’s part of the new breed of footballer that I actively can’t stand, more interested in their hair and shorts than playing football.

Miller is as poor as they get. Gray not helping his own cause by playing him. Get him off and out of the club asap.

Defending is incredibly poor at the very best.

Not defending him today - he’s been atrocious - but he loves a great game against Celtic. He was as likely to be World class as he was to be a shambles.
Very frustrating player.

Can’t think of seeing so many unforced errors from one player in a half of football?

Another Miller performance, shocking start then gets into the game, unfortunately he's been here long enough now and I don't think we should be looking at a new deal.
I remember a few years ago there was an article where he says he wanted to be the best RB in the league, to many silly errors for me, never learns.

I for one think it’s brilliant how he can’t kick a ball to someone a few yards away properly, proper Barry that.

Only player I’ve ever seen who can receive a ball with nobody within 20 metres of him and still find a way to get himself into trouble.
It’s literally every week but Gray obviously not seeing it and/or not addressing it via coaching. He could easily cut out most of these mistakes but they don’t seem to bother him. He cost us on Sunday, makes another early howler and then follows it up a few seconds later with another.
It’s completely unacceptable.

He’s been awful defensively… but they’ve struggled to get to grips with him at the long high diagonal balls we’ve put in to him in their box.
There are probably still goal contributions to come from him, at both ends.

Strange post.
I think it is much stranger, although not sure why having experienced it weekly on match day thread, people need to start threads to abuse players after 10 minutes. The match day thread surely is enough for debate.
As is being proved it's a 90 minute game and in my opinion players should be judged over 90 minutes

Thought he was really poor defensively today
Even near the end of the second half he slid to try and clear the ball and completely missed it, letting his man in again.
Never mind his passing and whatever he was doing the first 5 minutes

We seem to have a fair few players that are decent but not actually in their main positions 😂

He’s not young enough to be a project anymore and he’s so lazy when it comes to closing down crosses and his passing isn’t good enough.
Shows some desire and does some things well, but he’s not deserving of a contract extension IMO.

Truly awful player.
That's not true though. He's way more of a mixed bag than that. He clearly has some bombscare moments defensively, but he also has some very good moments - could have had 2 goals today, wins vital headers in the box too.

Call it as it is, no agenda .
He was awful the first half, and good in the second.
Hes always a threat upfront, hes actually really good in the air, defending corners and free kicks, he’s plays for hibs, not Real Madrid.

Let his runner go in first half as well which almost lead to another goal, gets caught out way to much and for the good he does there is to many negatives in my opinion.

First half he was awful, second half was better. Unlucky with the header and great strike from outside the box. Bit of an enigma, still not sure his best position but looked better moving in in the back 5.

Agreed, and makes me wonder if we actually do any coaching at EM, whether it's mental. positioning or tackling etc.

In the first half today he was absolutely dreadful, his passing and positional sense were both abysmal. But in his defence he cleared two corners by winning headers in that half and in the second he was much better.
But overall if he is going to play right back, or wing back, for this club going forward his positional sense is going to have to improve massively, as is his decision making when he's on the ball, because both are too often way below standard even for this league.
I don't know if it's just me, but at times watching him it's almost as if his mind wanders and he literally forgets where he is and why he's there .... very strange

He needs to stop trying to defend from 5 metres away. He’s basically giving them a free cross into the box.

Miller was outstanding today v Celtic. I think his best performances have come against Celtic funnily enough.
Yes he is inconsistent, but when he's good he's very good. Some of the OTT criticism of him on this thread and others is nonsense.

He played with his head up today and definitely one of his better games for us this season, I think it helps there’s real competition for his position now, you could say that for a few players actually, it’s a healthy place to be for us. a switched on Lewis Miller is a massive plus for this team.

I think he's a great defensive fullback. This is exactly the kind of game for him. I'd rather have N Cadden when we are playing a team we expect to beat as he's much better going forward but Miller will battle and fight all day.

He’s always good in these type of games where its more about his athleticism and aerial ability. Much better option than Cadden in these games. I reckon his top 3-5 games for us have been against Celtic

Provides a physical presence that we need and is dominant in the air.
Keeps the ball alive frequently at corners, and his long throws are an added bonus.
He is versatile as he can play full back or central defender.
Talk of not renewing his contract by some on here seems daft.
Hope he stays

Cut out his stupid passes giving the ball away, the whole team have.No trying to play the ball out at the back when we are heavily pressed, just clear the ball now. Must have been heavily coached on this part of our play.
I love Chris Cadden. Yet he no longer has the pace to play against the top wingers.
Miller is a beast of an athlete. Runs all day and loves a tackle.
Gray and his coaching team are improving every player in the squad. And there's no better role model at right back than SDG.
Well done Lewis.

It was a great call to put him in, solid all game. It will be interesting to get Michael stewarts words of wisdom on him as he thinks he cannot defend

Careful. According to some on here, he’s slow and clumsy. The boy just needed coached ffs and what better gaffer to have than a solid right back in DG. Boys a specimen and an absolute tank. Played brilliant yesterday against some very good players. Keeps Cadden out the team for me. Well done Lewis.
