just looking at the GOTM as post by Hibs this morning - really notable that for 3 of the 4 Triantis plays a pivotal role.

he gets a fair amount of flak on here, but I actually think he's growing into the role and Gray gets some credit for spotting potential as a holding midfielder. for me it's a position that players often mature in to so if there was an option to make his move permanent I'd be up for it

he does still of course make mistakes, but there's a player in there and good to see evidence of his influence in games - both offensively and defensively

Triantis has been, or close to being, our best player since I was greetin on here about wanting him dropped a month or so ago. Nicky Cadden probably just ahead of him. But Triantis has been pivotal for us.

I'd agree - what I particularly liked about the hearts goal is that although most of the credit goes to Gayle for his determination keeping the ball in and his positional sense leading to a great finish, triantis plays the pass out wide in one touch, speeding the passage of play from one side to the other resulting in the hearts defence being out of position. the boy has huge potential, I just hope Sunderland see him as being not good enough for them, especially if they get promoted (and as a Newcastle fan I'm conflicted about wanting that to happen!)

On the goal, I think it's Caddens free kick v the Sheep, but it isn't on there.

Bizarre that that goal hasn't been included. 🤔

I think most folk paying attention have stopped having a go at Triantis. Our recent renaissance has had some players at the heart of it that have had criticism or loss of faith on some level; Triantis, Smith, Rocky, Gayle, Newell, also not many of us thought that our current best player (IMO) Nicky Cadden was a good signing when he arrived. It makes making decisions about clearing deadwood that much more difficult.
