Good year summary on the HSL site.

One thing caught my eye:

In December, we were pleased to be given the opportunity to meet representatives from Black Knight Football for the first time. As the club’s third largest shareholders we believed it appropriate to introduce ourselves to the second largest shareholder in order to explain our purpose, our history and our commitment to continued support of the club.

The meeting – between Hibernian Supporters chairman Jim Adie and Black Knight’s Ryan Caswell and Bill Foley – was a very positive exercise and we look forward to continued dialogue with all of the club’s shareholders and the board to represent the interests of our members.

Was this meeting known about by HSL members before now? I'm an HSL member and can't remember seeing anything about it before the event.

I don't think it's a bad thing - in fact it's definitely a good thing - for HSL to have a relationship with BKFC given that HSL are still, even after dilution, a relatively large shareholder and will be looking to buy more shares in the future.

Would be good to know what the purpose of the meeting was, what was discussed and agreed, any sticking points or concerns, and what, if any, preparations were made to gather input from members ahead of the meeting.

This isn't intended in any way to try and criticise or infer anything untoward, I know Jim is a man of great integrity and a stickler for doing things by the book so there's absolutely no suggestion of any wrong doing or folk acting out of turn etc, I need to be really clear about that as often posts like this can be misconstrued and it's absolutely not my intention to do so, I'm just genuinely curious as an HSL member and I'm sure others here would be as well.

First I have heard of it, but that doesn't mean we were not told !

Like you I think it's a good thing.

Just checked my HSL emails and there's nothing about a meeting with the BK's, not that it would have made any difference to me attending!

Nothing on the HSL website either but again, none of us are suggesting they have done anything wrong

Was this the meeting they had and then told us that they couldn’t tell us anything as it was confidential?

I would imagine the confidentiality line might be trotted out again.

Different one.

That one they definitely took questions and concerns from the membership but we didn't really get to hear much due to the confidentiality agreement.

I did meet up with Ryan and Bill and as you rightly point out there was nothing untoward involved in this.

On return from my travels I was passing through Las Vegas and the HSL Board took the opportunity to ask me to seek a meeting with representatives from the BKFC on behalf of HSL. There was nothing sinister in this and the Meeting Agenda was very simple :
1. Give a brief history of HSL
2. Gain an understanding of the vision that the BK's have for our Club.
The Meeting was facilitated by the Club through the proper channels i.e. the Chairman

When the Club was sold a number of years ago it became increasingly obvious that the new owners knew very little about HSL and this subsequently gave us difficulties. We wanted to avoid a repeat of this and therefore thought it would be helpful to introduce ourselves to the new Shareholders and give them a clearer understanding of what we are and indeed what we are not.

We also thought it would be helpful to gain a clearer understanding of what vision of the future the BK's had. I can confirm that both Ryan and Bill were very excited about their investment and want to see us really pushing forward at the highest possible level, just the same ambitions we have ourselves.

There wasn't any secrets and confidentiality was not an issue.

I guess the proof will be what happens in the window that just opened, been waiting for the chance for the new set up behind the scenes to prove its pedigree.

SDG has the team playing well and winning, he has done his part.

Now what he needs is for the director of football etc to show us how much hard work they have done preparing for this opportunity to tune up the squad. With the right signings we could still push for European footy.

They have had months to prepare so no excuses.

Over to the golden quadrant or what ever they call themselves these days…

Get it done.

You should post this on the thread about HSL on the Bounce.

Are you allowed to share the vision they have?

It will be interesting that’s for sure. I think it’s safe to say the BKs had zero input in the summer’s activity. Which as discussed previously is mental on so many levels.
