I mentioned on another thread that I have been impressed how management / coaches / physios have managed Squad in terms of form injuries / fitness etc over these recent matches in a hectic schedule

What do we expect / hope for in terms of a team / squad for this match in only 4 days

Normally a decent support up to Perth and would expect even more on Thursday.

Any news on our allocation / stands and likelyhood of tickets on the day?

Then we have Rangers on 5th..

While this schedule has been great for a Hibs fix and winning - it’s wild for non old firm squads.

There was times earlier in the season we had 2 weeks off for international breaks etc.

St Johnstone manager seemed to basically write off today’s game away tk Celtic and rest players for Hibs game.

Just keep doing what we've been doing the last few games. No need to change anything for Thursday unless we have to.

Easiest game of the season* to wrap up the year with another 3 points.

*Not a throw away comment or setting things up so I can moan if we lose. I mean, really, if not this game, then what is?!

If the weather forecast is anywhere near right then I don't see the game going ahead.

Much like today, just find a way to win.

I think St Johnstone play a lot more open under Valakari which would suit us.

Worst team in the league so far by some distance I'd say, would be great to make it 6 wins in 7!

They chuck out weather warnings for anything these days so hopefully OK.

There is a yellow warning for snow but when you look at the actual forecast for Perth it’s saying a bit rain on the Wednesday then nothing all day Thursday, just to be cold.

Never need much of a travelling support from Edinburgh for this game. Plenty Fife, Perthshire, Dundee and Aberdeen Hibs fans have snapped up tickets already.

Put everything into beating St Johnstone as it is a more winnable game.

The Huns game will be what it will be.

Eh? Forecast for Thursday is sunny but cold! It will be fine.

I don't know their squad very well to tell - was there a lot of fringe players in the team? Interesting if that becomes more commonplace. Honestly, it's something I've advocated for Hibs in the past although we're realistically not likely to do it. I get it's a slap in the face to paying fans but there's a lot of logic in doing it.

The schedule is relentless, but it's came at a good time with us hitting a bit of form. Hopefully the confidence rolls into this game.

It’s all a bit odd. Give or take a few days we’ll have played as many games in a month as it took to get through the whole of Aug and Sept.

But hey it’s Scottish fitba so don’t expect much to make any sense nor find a sensible explanation.

Handily we saved our winning streak for just when the schedule went ballistic…let’s hope we wrap up 6 in a row against Rangers…that would be something else!

If that's Newell injured, I have concerns.

The multiple international breaks earlier in the season are why we have so many games just now.

At least we don't have a pointless winter break this year or even more games would be crammed in.

I have hazy memories of getting pumped at McDiarmid in the snow, orange ball etc. Sure it was a cup game. May have lost 4-0?

Have a hazy memory of Hibs beating them 9-1 although at Easter Rd, just to put the positive spin on.:greengrin

Far too much time given over to the international breaks since the Nations League came in. Our fixture schedule in late December/early January is crazy as a result.

This is historically the game we would let ourselves in. Getting really good results, thinking we’ve turned the corner only to lose to the team bottom of the league

In fairness I never think Perth is a nice or easy place to go

Hopefully a couple of our players manage to come back from injury or shake off any niggles they had

Myk
Youan
Newell
Iredale

Being back would be a huge boost. I know Myk isn’t everyone’s fan but in a front 2 and as a focal point up top at some point in the game could be huge

Is it really anything to do with the international breaks that we’ve had a couple of extra games over this period? For as long as I can remember there has been additional games around this time of year on the public holidays.

That's very true.

I think it's worse this year, though, as there isn't a winter break, which I think was down to the international games.

Injuries are a slight concern with Newall, O'hora and Iredale coming off and Youan not being in the squad.

If non of them can make it for this game I'd line up something like

Smith
Miller Rocky Obita
Cadden Triantis Kwon Cadden2
Campbell
Boyle Gayle

Pretty much the team that finished the game last night.

Really hope we can get an hour out of Newall, Kwon looked very rusty last night but did ok against Hearts to be fair.
