Thought both played well today and done a job , Triantis my MotM . I think at 21 the guys got a lot of potential and delighted he got a goal , Campbell just such a good player to have in our squad as when he’s called on to play he gives absolutely everything.

Two players that have been absolutely pilloried on here recently. I think Gray deserves credit for bringing players into the team and making them more than the sum of their parts. He seems to be creating a good spirit in the dressing room.

Two very much maligned players who many had written off.
Campbell a long time target for critique and Triantis has come in for extra scrutiny since his return.
Both have lots to offer and the attention seems now to be focussed on Kwon.
We obviously want to set high standards and make demands on our players, but we can maybe give players a bit more leeway when form dips and not completely write them off.
Triantis is my fav player just now, last few games he's been tremendous, terrified Sunderland will take him away and I need to remind myself never to fall in love with a loan player for the umpteenth time

100%. Gray couldn't really have gotten off to a worse start. The fact he's turned it around is a good sign. A lot of managers get off to a flier then hit a bad streak and never recover. Feel like SDG has already seen that part through which hopefully bodes well.

Yet there were numerous posts on here saying he would get Gray sacked etc. From respected posters as well. I don't know who to believe any more!

Tell you what, you're all very lucky I'm not manager. I was screaming for Triantis to be dropped for Kwon a few weeks ago. That was as clear a MotM performance as we've had in a long time.
He was all over the pitch just bossing it. Love it!

Yep thought both were excellent today, Campbells control and passing were top notch and Triantas was always in the middle of things, well done both

It’s also easy when we’re in good form (the form team in the league?) to forget that some of players mentioned in this thread, as well as many others, have had these kind of redemption arcs before and that we’ve needed team meetings where some home truths were needed in the last two seasons.

Campbell was very good today, not bad for someone classed as "just a poor footballer" by some on here.

Cambell is played in his proper position now though which has helped alot, can see why teams in Italy would be interested now.

Great performances from them both but we should really be looking to upgrade/replace all our CMs. I would possibly keep Newell because he has found his feet as a captain and he is decent on the ball.

Been critical of Campbell sometimes I’m not going to lie but he works hard and does offer something when he’s on his game. His touch sometimes can be poor and I just wish he was a bit more clinical.

Thought both of them were really good yesterday, particularly with ball retention, I think both are improving in that regard.
Pleased for both, I said a few weeks ago I’d be happy if all the loan deals were cut short but Triantis is making a case for staying. At 21 I think the improvement he’s shown over the last 4 or 5 weeks has been impressive.

Triantis is a good player, will only get better.
Campbell will run all day but technically he’s poor. Struggles in games like yesterday where we have lots of the ball. He gave away possession in positive areas five times in the first half. Urgently need an attacking midfielder with quality.

Maybe not Fred though as much as I rate him if Sunderland get promoted which is a possibility he isn’t anywhere near the level they need to stay up IMO …
Wee question … has he been capped by Australia because I read that he can play for Greece who were interested in him too .

He was born in Sydney but his father was Greek.
He hasn’t been capped at full levell but has played for the national team’s under 20 and under 23 teams.
I confess that I was surprised when Sunderland signed him as while he was turning in competent performances for the Mariners, he wasn’t one of their star performers by any means.
Guess that indicates that Sunderland’s recruitment staff know a bit more about fitba than I do

Triantis was my MOTM today, even above Boyler, absolutely outstanding. I have to hold up my hand and say i was wrong about him.

Yep.
I think the guy is in good form overall at the moment but I'm still far from sold on him long term, he won't make it at Sunderland as anything more than a squad player in my opinion. But for me he's not aware enough to play at that level.

Very harsh to put both goals on Triantis ball watching.
The 1st goal looks like Iredale has Igamane covered so Triantis turns his attention to Diomande who looks to be advancing from midfield but Igamane stops and Iredale continues to drop deep which provides the space.
Their 3rd goal Igamane drops back on to Miller and you can see Triantis pointing telling him that’s your man, then Igamane makes his move forward again to get on the end of the ball.
Defensively it could’ve been much better from Hibs but it certainly not all on Triantis. My opinion is that it’s actually really good forward play and the boys movement makes it really difficult to defend against.

Triantis can be frustrating, but some of the stuff he has done in games this season with the ball in tight spaces, and some of his passing is really top drawer. Think he will go on to play at a decent level. Absolutely bossed the midfield today at times.

Yeah 1st goal he was defending the edge of the box as you’d expect from your defensive mid. Igmane was the only rangers players in our box against our 3 centre backs, they should have had him covered.

They play a guy who couldn't get anywhere near our team despite us being rank at the time so he could possibly go down there and play every week

This. Triantis was tremendous today. More or less bossed the midfield, and was the driving force behind most creative things Hibs did when they threatened, and he's got an engine. Get him signed permanently!!

He was spectacular with the ball at his feet. Almost looked like a potential #10 at times.

Triantis was the best player on the park today. Not just for us to but in general. Great performance.
So calm and assured on the ball and is constantly looking to move us up the pitch and make things happen.

I think he is going to turn into an absolutely superb player. He has all the attributes to be a very, very good midfielder. He does need to improve his passing though as every single game he will pass it straight to the opposition at least twice. If there was any possibility of making his move permanent I think we should be doing everything we can to make it happen.

I have thought Triantis was good today. Far more confident on the ball. Get a Scott Allan type creative midfielder alongside him and he’d look even better.

Both got better once NMW came on to inject some energy, the whole team got a lift and started fighting and getting right in their faces, which as we all know the hun do not like.
