I’ve been wracking my brains on this one but I genuinely think Nicky Cadden is the best deliverer of the ball I’ve seen at Hibs.

Alex Edwards, Cadds puts a good ball in as well, but wee Mickey was a very special player.
Shout out for Pat Quinn as well.

David Murphy used to cross a mean ball, not sure he was any better than Nicky Cadden though.

My Dad would have said Gordon Smith followed closely by Alex Edwards.
As I am not old enough to have witnessed Gordon Smith it's Alex Edwards from me.

Alex Edwards was a world class crosser of a ball, never mind Hibs class, if a Scotland manager had thought of Edwards and Law or been 'allowed ' to think of Edwards and Law in the same team Scotland would have more trophies than England do.He seriously was that good.

I think that’s a good point
Every game he puts 2 or 3 brilliant balls into the box from open play
Could have had 3 or 4 assists yesterday.

Alex Edwards by some distance. Liam Henderson. David Zitelli. David Murphy.
But if Nicky Cadden continues his current form, he’ll be in there..
Chic Charnley, and don't laugh, Joe Tortolano.Joe T had the making of a very good left winger before AMs brainwave of playing him as a full back with instructions not to go over the half-way line.
Another vote for Alex Edwards here. Skill and imagination personified. Only Latas comes close.

Interesting to consider but I think the art of crossing has changed a bit in my 55 years of watching Hibs. I suspect the modern ball and it's pace and capacity to spin is very different from the ubiquitous Mitre Multiplex type balls that dominated in the 70's.
I remember Edwards' crossing as being more a flighted ball in, not hit with the same pace as those delivered by the likes of Cadden or Obita in this side.
As mentioned, guys like Murphy, Zitelli, Tortolano, they could put in a decent balls. Mikey Weir could put in a good cross, so could Uli Laurssen.

Aye Joe T whipped over a mean cross said so on another thread
Michael O’Neill what a player he was for us got you out of your seat ran at defences could send over all sorts of dangerous crosses and score all sorts of goals

Aye joe T was a brilliant crosser, when Miller allowed him over the half way line!🤣🤣. Nicky C is great, Michael O'Neill was also a great crosser, with both feet as well, but for me, I think Joe just shades it.

Alex Scott (Jim's brother) was another. But it has to be Gordon Smith and Alex Edwards. Can't pick between the pair of them.

Alex Edwards, if his cross didn't land on a head then that head was in the wrong place. Edwards was always thinking ahead of his teammates, his crosses and passing sometimes had more vision than his teammates and that's saying something in the team he played in.

I've never seen a player at hibs consistently hit crosses like Nicky Cadden.
It's an absolute breath of fresh air, as much as I love lewy Stevenson his crossing was woeful at times.

Obita and Cadden both hit good crosses but Caddens quality and consistency was terrific yesterday, 3 or 4 crosses that are the stuff of nightmares for defenders.
I don’t remember two players hitting consistently good crosses like these two. A proper, old school Center forward would lap these up.
Was John O’Neil a good crosser? His cross for Mixus third in the 6-2 game was sumptuous.

I don't disagree with the nominations that post-date this, but always loved a Willie Miller rampage down the wing and cross.
In my head, though, I've seen Gordon Smith put it on a postage stamp for Reilly more times than I've ever seen a Hibs match, if that counts?

Another vote for Edwards.
I was thinking about him yesterday, first derby since he passed, and at Tynecastle too where he was majestic in the game on new years day. He loved beating the Hearts. Fitting that we won.

Tortolano could cross a ball. He was a winger that Miller played as a full back. Zitelli was easily the best corner taker I've ever seen. As a striker he wasn't whipping in crosses regularly but absolutely no doubt he could. Riordan could too when he was out on the flank but had such ability he'd more often shoot than cross.
Obita is a good crosser but Nicky Cadden must be about the best in the league right now. It doesn't seems to matter where he is as he whipped that one in from a position a lot of wide men wouldn't attempt to and he got it spot on. I like a cross that isn't always a high one and can be finished by foot!

I loved David Murphy but i dont really remember his crossed ball as his main strength and surprised to see him mentioned. He was more a complete player, great through ball, no nonsense defender sublime touch and great with the ball at his feet and bringing others into play.

I’m in my 50’s and I never saw Alec Edwards so he’s not someone I can comment on.
There’s a lot of others mentioned I can like Griffiths, Zitelli, Mallan, Henderson that I can comment on but they were all players that played centrally so crossing wasn’t a big part of their game.
Murphy, Riordan, Weir and O’Neill were names who could and overall they all maybe better players but none of them imo were on Nicky Cadden’s level for putting a ball into the box. Dead ball or a cross from open play.

Joe was a winger/Midfielder when starting out at West Brom I'm sure and we played him at left back I liked him as a youngster
