What a great result today . That’s now 10 points from 15 and once again the spirit and togetherness of the team was plan to be seen , certainly a team that’s playing for the manager and his staff.

Absolutely delighted for David Gray and think we should get behind him now and give him time … :flag:

I think he has weathered the storm now and can kick on. Even the subs today were good and that team looked together and playing for the manager. What a story it would be if he could win something as a manager too

Yep! And if we have a bad result or performance hopefully fans don’t immediately turn on him again.

Let’s get behind the team and kick on. Absolutely no reason we can’t target 4th this season.

This. It's about holding our nerve when sometimes things dont work and backing the team and manager with a long term view. Gray made mistakes for sure but sacking yet another manager after a few months would be madness. The gray is out his depth thread should be pinned on here to remind fans what knee jerk looks like and to keep some perspective and positivity.
Mon Sir Dave!

I hope he has and we can kick on , can’t have been an easy time for him though he’s handled things very well IMO . I really like what I’m seeing from the team in its spirit and character . If he won something as manager it would be the stuff dreams are made from ..😃

He’s a good coach - potentially very good. He’s taken over the club when it was an almighty clown show, had to oversee numerous new players settle in, and had some horrific luck.

We’re on our way with David Gray.

Hopefully this now begins to break the cycle of changing managers before Christmas, scrabbling for players in January and seeing out the season on the promise that it will get better.

SDG obviously has a plan. If Garvan Stewart can get the right players identified and signed in the transfer window then that adds to the squad and maybe we can continue to improve.

Nothing is "solved". It never is in football. Can always go backwards. See Aberdeen's current form.

Lose the derby and the doubters will be in full voice again, but maybe the last few games and results show that we are not as bad as some would have us.

Just like how the happy clappers are out now lol [emoji38] [emoji1]I don't disagree. People need to be a little more down the middle than either bed wetter or happy clapper.

However, tonight all the fans can be delighted.

Great result.

Trust the process they say.........They don't really have a process unless its heads firmly down and hope SDG bails us out with the fans. Whatever happens he isn't the target of blame for this season as far as I'm concerned.

Delighted for SDG and really enjoying scoring 3 goals in a game. Under the last few managers we rarely scored more than 2 so long may it continue.

Thought rocky was immense today. His block in the 1st half was special.

Thought Newell was lucky with his challenge in the 1st half got sent off for similar.

Yes, let's build on the recent results.

You could tell today the players were 100% up for it.

The tactics let him down. Today he played his fastest, most threatening and best finishers through the middle.

Celtic do it week in week out. It's not rocket science.

Sir David Gray as a Hibernian Scottish Cup winning player and manager? I think I'd spend however many years I have left with my hands in my underdungers.

He’s absolutely done enough in recent weeks to deserve our backing - clear signs of improvement when he’s inherited a complete mess. Switch to a back three has reversed our fortunes big time, on top of a competent goalkeeper.

Absolutely delighted for him to be honest, he’s a Hibernian FC legend and would absolutely love him to succeed here.

David Gray has all the potential to add to his legend status as our manager. He deserves the time to assemble a squad he’s happy with and time to get them playing his brand of football. Nuno at Nottingham Forest is a good recent example where a manager was given time to prove himself. Albeit in a League where finances are on a different stratosphere.

There are lessons to be learned for us all in not only having faith and support for the manager, but of the players as well.

The emotional rollercoaster that football take us on it’s no surprise that we lurch from one extreme to the other with our opinions on Hibs.

We are finding form, showing character and winning games with much maligned players and management largely written off on this forum.
Hopefully we don’t go on as miserable a run as we have recently come out of, but we will almost certainly have a sticky few results at some point, and hopefully we won’t revert back to demands for managerial sackings and players to be never seen in Hibs shirts again.

We are a long way from being out of the woods. We are still 8th in the league. Any Hibs manager 8th in the league at Xmas absolutely should be feeling the pressure. The last month has seen improvement but overall this season has been appalling.
There will need to be signing coming in January to fully turn this round.

Yup. Just because we've climbed from bottom to 8th doesn't mean Gray is the right man.

Pleased for him, and hope he can mount a challenge for Europe, but the squad is still as crap as it was a few weeks ago. The last few results are what we should have been seeing from the start of the season.

Still think he'll be replaced in the summer.

The squad has weaknesses but have said all season it wasn’t as bad as it was showing. It was under performing rather than just being completely pish. Dont think it’s brilliant but I don’t think anyone else has anything far superior.

Since we belatedly made the change of formation we’ve got so much more out of them. It’s just a shame that it took so long for us to get to that point. The fact we’ve started keeping 11 players on the park has been an obvious help as well.

Also helps when Celtic have a wage bill about 10 times ours and can spend £11 million on a single player.

Not really as simple as saying just setup like Celtic.

That's it in a nutshell for me, the horrific luck, refereeing blunders and individual errors, not forgetting injuries to key players seem to be forgotten.

Gray knows that outside of the OF the rest are ability wise pretty much on a par, and it’s largely a confidence game. Aberdeen had terrific momentum and their comeback at Parkhead seems a long way away now.

Our squad is probably marginally better than most. We should be looking to achieve 4th, though probably half a dozen teams will have that as a realistic ambition too.

Happy to support the manager, and i think Hibs should be giving him the season, he should be able to keep us up, especially if he can get Boyle and Youan on form and sort the defense..

However, long term we need a better plan, a better structure, far better players and a better manager. I do still not Trust this process, happy to see it keep us up but we need better for longer term success which the BK are clearly pushing for, and they are right to do so..

I think the structure is changing with the appointment of Garvan Stewart which will hopefully lead to better players which in turn help the manager.

If Gray continues to get results and improve us there is no need to change the manager and would be bonkers to do so IMO .

Hearts apparently used Data analytics in identifying Neil Critchley as the main choice to take them forward and yet so far there’s been little evidence of it .
