Spanish winger we had on loan last season.... starts most weeks in the English Championship for Sunderland I've just noticed! Was it just me or did he barely make any impression at all while he was with us??
Surprised in such a short period of time and from the limited appearances be made for us, that he's a starter at that level.
Did we not give him enough opportunities? 🤷*♂️

Did we not play him as a centre forward?

Don’t think we played him anywhere.
I watched their game last week with Bristol City and he was brilliant - a menace down both wings at times and Sunderland’s most dangerous player.
We had a wee debate about whether or not Monty’s sacking was justified a few weeks back - I think having this guy under his nose and not spotting that he was a very useful player has to go down in Monty’s “deserved the sack” column.

Shows the standard of the English Championship 😉

There can obviously be a million reasons why he never played. But it does slightly worry me we had a guy last season that clearly has quality and was given just two sub appearances.
Meanwhile Jair kept coming off the bench.

He played in a few devopment games, and odd friendly, at HTC, and he was disinterested, and hopeless.
Mabye why he didn’t get a chance.

I suspect this was likely the reason. Maybe Sunderland used us as a wake up call for him to work harder or you could spend your career at this level.

I see Nathan Wood is playing for Southampton. Another one we never really gave a chance.

He looked dreadful with us, you have to earn your place in the team and he didn’t.

His only start was a shocker against a poor Dundee United side who put three past us. I don’t think too many complained at the time he was barely seen again. Players take time to develop. He’s clearly a different player now.

Saw him at Lewis Vaughan’s testemonial at Kirkcaldy and never seen a guy look so like he didn’t want to be here.
Don’t think we can blame the club here.

Young guy, turfed out on loan on the final day of the window. Sounds like it might have been against his wishes based on the comments about him looking disinterested.

He didn't really get many chances to show any ability he had at Hibs. If players like Jair were getting regular games along with some of the other pish that have played last season and this season, maybe they should have given him a couple of more games to show what he could do. I don't know whether he was any good or not cos he hardly played at all for the 1st team, maybe 1 game. Triantis on the other hand was absolutely dreadful in his 1st game but still managed to get plenty of game time after that and this season.

Tbf I don’t really blame him for that either 🤣
