What’s everyone’s thoughts?
We obviously changed to a far more defensive shape against Celtic but managed to create good chances, imo the best in any game this season.
Myk missed sitters and then came off injured, unsure if he is fit. Obita and Miller came back in due to the defensive shape, would they drop back out? Miller was really good against Celtic but different opposition and different needs
For me;
………………..Smith……….
……O’Hora….Rocky…Iredale….
Cadden…Triantis..Newell…Cadden….
…………………Hoilett….
…………….Gayle….Youan…..
More attacking options and in the shape we look the best. Hayek deserves a chance from the start and you’d fancy him to get himself in good positions

Decent team from what's available but personally wouldn't be playing Triantis again

Who would you play? I think it would be quite harsh, he had a not so great game against Celtic - many have and plenty more will. He was MOTM against Motherwell though.

For all he is a bit defensively frail Cadden is a must start for me right now. He's been by far and away our biggest attacking threat in recent weeks. If we can get the Youan who was on the park v Aberdeen and before he was shifted last week and the Hoillet we have seen in flashes then we'lll have plenty threat from out wide.

:agree:
This for me, don't tinker with a working formula (working in comparison to the last 3 months I mean).
The only thing for me is Obita is the best crosser we have in the team, but N Cadden is doing a great job it would be tricky to get them both in the side without completely changing formation.

I think that’s a brave call about Obita being the best crosser we have btw .. Nicky Caddens not half bad at them either. Tight call on that one IMO .

Really? I think he's a brilliant crosser, it's by for one of his best qualities and IMO he's miles ahead of anyone else in the team with his delivery. Better than Cadden, he brings loads of other qualities and he's not a bad crosser from what I've seen.

As long as Chris Cadden, Bursik and Campbell aren’t anywhere near our starting line up then we should be well placed to pick up the 3 points.

He is good I’m not questioning that though I’d probably put Cadden on par with him tbh . I think that’s N Caddens best quality too in deliveries like the cross for Hoilett’s goal against Motherwell , his free kick against Aberdeen .. both very good just don’t think Obita is miles ahead of Cadden .

Bursik definitely won’t be starting unless Smith picks up an injury.. Chris Cadden is a strong possibility and Campbell I’d imagine will come on at some point as a sub .

Not looking to turn it into a Triantis debate bit he has been outright awful. Out of the lot of them he has been the luckiest to keep getting a game. Not disputing he has had one or 2 good games but as a number 6 he is all over the place. Lost count of the amount of goals we have conceded he's been most at fault for. Some saying he had a good game at Parkhead - he's at fault for 2 of the 3 goals. His performance v Dundee away is probably the worst singular performance I've seen anyone have, the no look own goal off the back of the napper just typified. Doesn't know how to play the position, constantly out of position and loses runners routinely. He has athleticism and for a centre back playing midfield he actually has good feet. He takes care of the ball relatively well most of the time. His actual job though, defensive mid, he's not doing the business

Agree he was very good in that game. Not sure he is the most effective on the ball and his decision making in terms of choice of pass not always the best eg tries difficult pass when easier one on however he also has decent attributes too. Put a brilliant ball through for Myko v Celtic.

I just get the impression with Levitt he’s accepted he’s not a first team player and not doing anything about it.
Keep saying it, if these outside first 12-13 first choice players were arsed they would be busting a gutt in training
Midfield is probably still our weakest area and the fact he’s sticking with the same 2-3 when we have a truck load of midfielders says it all.
Ship Levitt, JDH, Kennah, NMW, all clearly made their mind up.

You don’t know they’re not training hard though. Levitt in the very tie brief glimpses we had recently done more than the rest of the midfield in those games. If the manager doesn’t rate you, he doesn’t rate you at the end of the day.

We wouldn’t miss Levitt and it’s in everyone’s best interest to move him on. However Gray has certain players he will pick regardless of form. Newell, Triantis & to a lesser extent Campbell. I’m not sure the likes of Levit or NMW, as examples, have probably done much wrong to merit the lack of opportunities they have had when our preferred midfield has struggled all season.
When Gray was really struggling and bringing on players out of the blue to try and stumble upon something that works. If I was Levitt I’d have been tempted to tell him where to go than inclined to try and save his job.

Agree 💯 with the defensive minded bit.
We’re too cautious against pish teams, especially at home.
We need to have enough players out there to worry County without having more than half our team set up to worry about a team who will likely only want to knock it long to Jordan White.

I was thinking about this and folk , myself included were wondering was there fitness issues with Gayle when he was only coming on for around 20 minutes , maybe that’s been more about him being a penalty box striker and others have just offered a bit more than him🤔

Agree - we need goals in our team.
I don’t want to see a team set up not to lose - let them worry about us.
If that means they can attack and leave space for us to counter fine that suits us.
We are our own worst enemy when we set up too rigid and not to lose. Usually ends in a draw or loss.

Gayle has been nursing a hamstring injury for the last month. Ideally he would have completely rested but made himself available
He's here!

Most importantly, which kit combo will we be lining up in? Green shorts/white shorts/white shorts and socks?
