As ever, these things are a mixture of guesswork and gossip.

The first 4 I clicked on used the word "reported". Reported to whom?

These things are never true, or at least based in any factual evidence. They're usually based off a mixture of weird websites that estimate or Football Manager. There is no more authenticity to the figure they've written for Vente's wage than me saying he's on double that.

I'm sure one of them even got caught using the Football Manager wages when there was a glitch that had Le Fondre on £20k a week because that was what he was on in the game.

Not this article again. Been posted loads of times about The ALF wage. It was a glitch in a football manager game and the ‘journalist’ went with it as fact.

Its all just made up pish.

I don't doubt we have plenty players on a high wage for what they actually offer on the pitch though.

I had have probably found that article quite interesting if it wasn’t on the clunky, unusable Scotsman website that didn’t let me proceed beyond the first page.
