Newcastle have won it six times and I think Sunderland have won it twice with them winning it last around the 70’s , Newcastle the 50’s I think.. both IMO are big clubs that’s underperformed over the years in fairness.

I can understand that though I think you should concentrate your praying on Sunderland this season in getting up tbh . Personally I hope you do as it might help us getting Triantis and it would be good to get the derby back again.

Since there is a thread on it...

Quite a unique possibility that Ashley Young (Everton) could play against his son Taylor Young (Peterbrough).

I'm not sure how much game time either get for their respective teams but not something you see very often!

Tyler played 30 minutes in an EFL Trophy game a few weeks ago against Stevenage. Was impressive by all accounts, but not had a look in since. Mind you, with Fry and MacAnthony at the helm, Posh aren’t shy of a wee bit of publicity so don’t be shocked if he makes the bench a few times between now and the Everton game!

be fantastic to see them both being subbed on side by side for their respective teams with 10 mins to go !

When I was watching the FA Cup draw, there were some teams that I was amazed to find out were Football League teams, which showed my ignorance at that level. Teams like Bromley, Harrogate Town and Barrow. Add to that list team like Salford City, Fleetwood, Stevenage and Crawley Town that I knew had been promoted in recent seasons.

It shows that the pyramid system is working well in England, though I'm sure the fans of those teams that have been relegated down the leagues wouldn't agree like Oldham Athletic, York City, Chester City and Torquay United. I also see that Carlisle United, Tranmere Rovers and Swindon Town are in or close to the trap door to the National Leagues.

Same in Scotland with (if my maths is correct) five teams that have been promoted via the play-offs, being Kelty Hearts (beating Brechin City), Cove Rangers (Berwick Rangers), Bonnyrigg Rose (Cowdenbeath), Edinburgh City (East Stirlingshire) and Spartans (Albion Rovers).

The pyramid system in Scotland is excellent. It’s rooted out teams that were simply filling up spaces by default. It’s no surprise that all of the teams who have dropped out with the exception of Brechin have been average to poor teams in the Lowland League since they went down. On the flip side of that, Kelty, Cove and Edinburgh City all managed to get out of League Two and push on whilst Spartans have been fairly impressive since coming up and Bonnyrigg have generally held their own quite comfortably.
