I meant to post this this morning but, it completely slipped my mind.
Quite an impressive interview.

Love it. :aok: Just the sort of attitude we need among the players.

Great interview. And today they walked the walk.

I like the look of Iredale, nothing too fancy, tries to defend first and foremost.
Looks like he has a decent forward pass stepping forward with the ball. I’d be looking to exploit that with him stepping forward to overload the midfield at times.

Early days but he looks like the answer to our LCB problem. Good left foot, shows desire, links well with Cadden. Next Saturday will no doubt be a different story but now he's fit he looks impressive.

Agree, think some of his passes out of the back into the forwards or hoilett are really good

Quietly impressive so far. Picks out positive forward passes and looks good at lcb

Talks led by Newell, interesting no-one has mentioned that to date.

Morton pal said he was a really good player.

A lot of people willing to stick the boot into Joe at the first opportunity but from what Iredale described he sounds like a real captain behind the scenes. Sounds like he's stepped up and helped massively with the turnaround in recent games. Well done Joe
I'll admit i was sceptical on Iredale after hearing a few worrying things from Bolton fans but has been really solid so far and looks good on the ball.

I think Jack’s introduction to the starting lineup has been hugely beneficial. He uses the ball so well and his natural left-sidedness provides a great balance. He’s absolutely made to play LCB in a back 3. On ya, Jack, keep it up.

Iredale has been a good signing, took Coach Gray a while to get him in the side but we look better with him there, that’s for sure

Agreed, one of the reasons I was a wee bit critical of Gray. He was brought in on a few occasions as a sub and thought he looked good enough. Then wasn't involved at all.
Look much better in a 352 though and Iredale is vital for that formation being a lefty.

You are spot on, the back 3 suits us much better and especially having a left sided defender in there too. Wonder if Marv will also suit it more when he’s fit again. Dare say we need another left sided defender to join in January to cover that space, or Obita perhaps could play that role too?

thanks for posting this and I hope it works as a counter balance to some of the excessive criticism of Joe in particular. the word imposter has been used, which I never like so it's good to hear a little more of how he is behind the scenes.
I have no problem in folk questioning his ability, but it is apparent that he cares about the club. he's also human like the rest of us and perhaps isn't able to turn it on every game especially when exposed to the level of negativity from fans. of course folk will argue that as captain he can't let his head drop and always has to lead by example - as a leader at work myself, it's easier to say than to do. anyway, I was heartened by the article, particularly as the two subsequent performances have been so improved

I think Joe is probably too nice at times, comes across as a cheerful, upbeat guy, who everyone at Hibs likes, when sometimes we might be better with a bit of an attack dog as captain, who tells people exactly what’s expected of them when they don’t perform. The ability to do that probably hasn’t been helped by the fact he has been pretty inconsistent himself as well. Joe is obviously a good guy and a talented footballer, but he’s been a key midfielder for a few seasons of failure, and has to take some responsibility for that. Let’s hope this is the point at which he plays more consistently demands more from his team mates and really shows why he deserves the armband.

I'm sure you're old enough to remember when Hibs were led by 'The Quiet Man'?

Yes but King Paddy was consistent on the pitch ! (He also had a hell of a team around him for a few years)

Yep. You won't find that mentioned on the excruciating Newell threads populated by the usual suspects.
