I never seen such a comprehensive win coming at all. That was a bolt from the blue and really frames things a bit differently.
The 3-3 game felt a bit like a relegation threatened team refusing to go down quietly. This felt like a completely different side altogether.

Not astonishing really, the league table has been right there yo be read all along but the sheer volume of the negative comments has been overwhelming at times. Hopefully we've turned the corner and it's upwards from here.

It’s nice to get the win and have a weekend off from the misery, and on the back of a very good point against Aberdeen in midweek.
Celtic next, so likely to come back to earth with a bump and so it’s essential that didn’t knock the wheels off and we take advantage of a home game against Ross County after that.
A lot of folk said the Aberdeen match could be the sort of result that swings the season, it’ll not happen itself though - the players need to do it for themselves.

Was just saying in the group chat that I wonder if we may have seen more positive results before now had it not been for that ridiculous VAR call against Utd a few games back.
I know every team has their hard luck stories, but the punishment we suffered as a result of that shocker was so severe.
Clearly a little bit of confidence goes a long way with this group. We’d have gone into the St. Mirren and Dundee fixtures in much better fettle after a decent performance and good three points against Utd.

Predicted 1-4 on the group chat but 0-3 will do me fine.

I agree they weren't great but I wonder how much of that was down to Hibs making them look poor.
While they did make a few unforced mistakes, we had a real determination today to win every tackle and to get the ball forward as quickly as possible and it honestly looked like they were struggling to cope.

The 3 best spells we’ve had (Dundee UTD second half, Aberdeen first half and today) have been with the 3 at the back. No question now that it has to be our go to.

Credit where it’s due. A very good win following up a better performance against Aberdeen. I still have my doubts, namely much like Johnson he’s stumbled upon a formation that is working rather than a carefully designed change from experience. He’s probably bought himself until January now though.
Short of a Robson like run from here in I still can’t see him making it to the summer. There’s also question marks around why he and his coaching team would be best placed to task with the blank canvass and rebuild in the summer.
Discussions for another day and he deserves the credit tonight.

If signs of green shoots were to continue he should get to the end of the season. I think back to 13/14 and think still if we kept with Fenlon we would have been bottom six but never relegated and there are lessons to learn from there.
If the form from here to the end of the season would have seen us top four or even five then he should stay full stop.

What I will do is give credit where credit is due. 3-0 win, Clean sheet and off the bottom of the table. I’m very pleased with this.

No worries. I can be relentless however I think there has to be context and in some cases it is justified. I can however understand folks frustrations which can sometimes come across as being negative.
I haven’t been that positive of late however I’m happy this evening as are many others.

If you can’t enjoy that you may as well give up as Hibs fan.
Absolutely buzzing tonight.
The Aberdeen game as weird and as frustrating as it was felt massively important to get that last minute goal. You could tell the players cared and enjoyed that moment.
I’m glad we have taken that forward to today and confidence is so important in sport.
Celtic next - ok expect nothing but Ross County at home is another massive game and chance to close the gap. Win that and it will make a huge difference as we go equal points with them.
We then have a tough trip Aberdeen - Derby away and Killie home. Great games really to get more points and confidence.
Delighted for the manager and I know everything isn’t perfect but for the clubs sake and avoiding relegation we need to get as many points on the board as possible asap to avoid 11th or 12th.
Few things to keep in mind..Ends the losing streak - not a good thing to have at back of mind. An away win..first league one this season…goals..shared around = good for confidence. Clean sheet - again defenders taken a lot of stick but that’s important and helps goal difference.

Two games in a row that I’ve actually enjoyed. I just want to see a Hibs team that have a go. If you do, you’ll score goals in this league because there are some teams with defences every bit as pish as ours has been.
Cut out the negative, sideways pish that we’ve seen so much of this season and just get after teams, like we did today and Tuesday, and we’ll win more games.

Didn't expect much away to motherwell myself maybe a point if we were lucky but it was a good performance . I want Gray to succeed so more of this going forward and we should hopefully move up the table a bit. Dodgy game next week though against an on form Celtic
Bookies had us favorites plus we’ve dropped a bucket full of points due to bad refereeing/bad luck and individual errors.

Every team other than the top two have shown varying degrees of inconsistency this season. The old cliche, every team capable of beating each other pretty true so far.
We’ve had some terrible luck but most of our losses have been self-inflicted to a degree. What rankles with me most is we should have had six points from Dundee Utd. They are a very poor team imo but they seem to be reasonably comfortable in fourth. The VAR fiasco the other week was disgraceful.

While it’s worrying to be down the bottom of table, it would be even more worrying if we were becoming detached.
If we maintain the levels of performance shown in last two games then we should find ourselves moving clear of danger by time split comes round and should be competing in the top 6 post split.
The competition isn’t great on the evidence seen so far.

Great result but can`t say it surprised me except that I expected more reaction from Motherwell in the second half . We did the simple things well today which is normally enough in a league with at least 9 teams which are more or less the same level . In Junior H and Youan we have 2 players who when on form are among the best in our league . Neither of them had a great game today but their quality still showed .

What really frustrates me is quoting 1 win in 14, now only 2 wins in 15. Guess if we win the next 10 games (which we won’t), the quote will be only 12 wins in 25, rather than unbeaten in 12!🙉

Gray and the team have definitely made life hard for themselves with the start we've had and the support will always fear a downturn in form is around the corner until we're well clear of the bottom spot, however they've done a brilliant job today and given us all a reason to smile. Job done in regards to that.
For the rest of the season and beyond, who is to say? If we continue battering teams 3 nil and that's us stopped the stupid mistakes on such a regular occurrence (obviously some mistakes will still happen) and we climb the table then Gray has earned the trust of the board, and should have the trust of the fans. Same with the players, what's happened in the past is gone, we can't change that, but as the cliché goes, you're only as good as your last game so if they keep performing then they keep their places and if someone wants to replace them, it's up to them to step up and prove they're better.
Everything to play for. GGTTH.

It seems like Joe Newell's 'behind closed doors' team talk before the Aberdeen game seems to have had a galvanising effect on the team. Fair play to him and to the players for finally showing up with a bit of grit and determination and playing for the jersey.
I want David Gray to stay and at least see the season out if not next season as well, and possibly beyond. I was always of the opinion that his brief is to avoid relegation this year and do what he can with what he's got before the mess, made by Ian Gordon and dodgy recruitment mostly, gets cleared up in the summer. I know IG has apologised publicly for dabbling where he shouldn't have and seems to have now backed off, but until the last couple of games, there was little evidence to suggest that the squad had much if anything about them and the whole set-up at Hibs was a **** show.
I don't see how you can blame people for being angry and concerned.
But yeah - a good couple of performances and results work wonders. They (the players) are proving the doubters wrong, and just as well too. If they play as well as they have over the last couple of games, bar Celtic, I'd like to see us get something out of all the games we've got in December.

It has and we have players that suit the system.
Could be the turning point draw with Aberdeen on the back of playing a 3 at the back because of the injury to Marv with a MOTM performance and goal from Rocky our accidental signing!
3 points required from Ross Co, anything from Celtic even a good performance a bonus

The back three solves one of our main problems defensively. A back four really needs full backs who are comfortable defending, and the last full backs we had whose game that was were probably Stevenson and Paul McGinn. The Caddens, Miller, and to a lesser extent Obita are too minded to play further up the pitch when they can.

Spot on about the full backs. Convinced we'd have had more points this season playing with the 3 at the back, getting Myko a partner up top and IM(not overly popular)O getting more game time from Levitt in a midfield 3.

We've dropped points by very fine margins and the teams around us are poor.
Performances have improved the last couple of games and if it continues then hopefully we can make a move up the table. The Ross County match is huge.
