Sounds pretty poor - just like most visiting fans experience at Ibrox. While I don't wish this on any decent fans, I'm sure the irony is lost on clubs hierarchy

The french police just do what they want, if theyre in the mood for a scrap, they make one happen. There isnt a lot of detail in that report, but i imagine they made life really unpleasant for lots of drunk huns who didnt realise they werent dealing with PC William Mason and his pals.

Did Rangers mention all their fans being in the wrong end contributing to any of the grief?

I heard it wasn't the French police at all.
They got attacked by a bunch of renegade west of Scotland FC supporters and Scottish cup supporters like the ones who invaded the pitch when Sevco lost in their first ever cup final appearance.
Every single hun was thrashed to within an inch of their lives and Lee Wallace who just happened to be passing by witnessed the whole thing.

Maybe when opposition fans highlight concerns with fan experience at Ibrox they will now start to take on board those concerns, or is it only their own supporters experiencing problems that is deemed to be unacceptable?

Maybe they took exception to their 'party piece' songs?

Dare I be the one to say that Rangers fans or not it's not really on.
The statement is light on detail but I've been to football in France and seen the French polis in action. As said above if they are in the mood to get tore in then they'll find or create a reason to do so.
I'm not likely to be holding a candlelit vigil for them anytime soon but it could be a more pleasant support who are on the receiving end in future.

The huns reputation goes before them, the police will no doubt have taken that into consideration and got their grief in first. A sacrifice worth making for the greater good of their lovely city surely?
Either that or they thought it's time the huns were taught that they can't just do what they normally do. Nice isn't Scotland.

So, it wasn't as Nice as they hoped it would be?

I went to Nice for the Rugby World Cup and yes it’s rugby, but the logistics of getting to and from the ground were terrible.
IMHO the trams can’t cope with a full crowd at the stadium. We spent an hour on the tram stopped for no reason. (I’m sure there was one but nothing was communicated) nearly pissed myself.
That said, Nice itself is brilliant and I’m under no illusions how the Huns behaved. I’m sure it was terrible (as they are want to do).
I’m sure their anti Catholic bigotry went down like a lead balloon with the predominantly Catholic Locals and Police Force.

Just popped on Follow Follow (I know, jumping in the shower now).
The lack of self awareness is unreal.
“The French Police graded that game "High Risk" last night, genuinely no clue why.
Between them and the Spanish Cops, f***ing animals.”
Hmmmm, wonder why it’s deemed high risk? Here, have a mirror.

The Nice police probably just asked the Manchester police what they were like, and how to deal with them.

The Greek polis were like that when we played AEK, not striking any of us but certainly threatening. Mo/Mod was beside me and she was struggling, must have been in her 70's then and they were telling her to move on. Walking through trees uneven ground at the time. Not one Hibs fan showing any aggression.

I imagine the folk in this shelter felt a bit jeopardized and seriously distressed, the hun statement writer must have missed that one.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20241130/703b6b673ba8d697288b9f6ec4a02741.jpg

It could be, but it never seems to be. Trouble follows the Huns like flies round s****e.

Sounds like the police were just doing their jobs and because this lot get away with whatever they want back home, they feel hard done by. I also wouldn't put it past them to try and turn it into some sort of political dispute.

I can remember what the huns, aided and abetted by the weegie polis, did to Hibs fans in 1979 outside Hampden and on many other occasions. Pardon me for not giving a **** about them and their pathetic statement

Bus got stoned after first game and getting to mount Florida after the second one wasn't made any more pleasant by them either.
No problem with them getting their come uppance now and again.

No the statement writer didn’t miss that one, the statement accused Kilmarnock of unsafe practices in the stadium and endangering rangers fans who could have been injured when the roof collapsed. Brass necked doesn’t come close to describing them
Irony of the Beeb having this story online, but never a peep about the overcrowding, forcing of fire exits etc that these fans regularly partake in, or the flares etc

I can only imagine sevco has got wind of a UEFA report looking into their fans behaviour at the game and getting their whataboutery in first.
