There has to be a reason why Gray didn't. There's no way he looked at Smith and considered him the better option.

Dabrowski left a year before either of these keepers were signed, neither was signed in preference to Dabrowski.

I've seen Kev a few times this season and while he's improved his decision making is still unreliable.

I am sick of all the years I've followed hibs, and having never seen a goalkeeper come out of our youth and establish themselves as number one. I'd love to see Max Boruc get a run and next season give the gloves to Murray Johnson.

Agreed. This has been painfully obvious from early in the season and it's costing us dear. It's now past the serious stage with clear unforced errors throwing games for us. The last thing we need when we are finding it hard enough.

I don't know if you are joking but I said that to a friend last night. At the very least he would give some confidence to the defence and he definitely isn't worse that our current 2 options.

When I watched Craig Gordon perform brilliant save after brilliant save for Scotland against Croatia and Poland, I thought how can Hearts have Craig Gordon and Zander Clark, whilst we've got Bursik and Jordan Smith.

We need to recruit two decent goalkeepers in January, as we can't rely on Bursik or Smith as back-up.

The fact that Kevin Dabrowski is still at Raith and no other Premier League club has snapped him up suggests we didn't make a mistake but the ones we have don't seem to be much better if at all. Getting a solid experienced keeper who we know is good enough is our biggest priority IMO. No punts on young up and coming keepers who might be brilliant one day . I want someone who has been decent in the Scottish Premier League. Not because he "knows" the league, but because we know exactly what we are getting. I'm sick to the back teeth of punts.

Boruc gets a lot of negativity because of how he done on loan at Arbroath (I think) and that Swindon never took him on after a trial so not good enough for them. What I have seen is when he came in briefly to the first team couple of times when we had the injuries couple seasons ago he was absolutely fine. He's a big presence and made some very good saves. Not saying he's great but he only needs to be better than Bursik and Smith and that's a real low bar.

Completely agree. But it'll be Bursik in goals this Saturday. Has Boruc even made the bench for us this season?

This position certainly shows the difference between Us and Hearts , they have 2 Scotland keepers vying for the gloves and a Scottish cup winner playing for their B team, meanwhile we have the chuckle brothers making a shop front of games every week.

Hibs have a development cup tie this Friday at HTC,against Ross county , Boruc played the last one ahead of Smith, and played well, it will be interesting who plays in goals this week.

Something that bugs me and is probably due to the insanity of it looking like Samson is Gray's #2 as well as being GK coach is that previously we have a GK coach out at HT with the sub keeper doing keeper specific warmups with them. Since Samson has come in this doesn't happen and the sub GK is left to play piggy in the middle and longbangers with the outfield subs. That's presumably because Samson is spraffing his nonsense to the outfield players in the dressing room thinking he's prime Klopp.
