Still?
Thought that was last season
Would genuinely play Bursik over Smith

I'd give him the gloves and tell him he's got until January to prove we don't need to sign a goalie.

I'm the same. He looked fine when he played previously which is far more than can be said of the "top" two keepers. At least he is young so you could expect the odd error the other two would make any defense look shaky

If he looks like he has played football before then he'll be an improvement on the other pair.

The 2nd and 3rd tonight. Deary ****ing me. Even aside from that his kicking was abysmal, the shot he let bounce off him right back into the danger area and the general hesitancy among players to pass the ball back all suggest he isn't the answer.

One good save from a free kick and he was positionally spot on in that instance as well. Beyond that he looked dire.

If he's not ready to even stake a claim at 22 then we'd be as well cutting him loose now because he's never going to be ready.

Time to take the kid gloves off with our young keepers and give one of them a shot. 22 isn't young for a goalie these days.

Boruc should have the gloves until he makes the same calibre of mistake the other two did.

He literally cannot be any worse.

The other 11 number ones in the league.

He doesn’t need to be better than the other 11 number 1’s in the league, just the other 2 at Hibs.

I’ve seen him play , he’s not brilliant, but he’s a big imposing lad , and loves shouting, he’s absolutely miles better than imposter Smith.
He was absolutely horrendous.
It’s not as if Aberdeen were any good, when the opposition fans are making fun of your goalkeeper, you know he’s bad.

Bursik, too short of confidence. Smith, just too short. What's to lose by playing Boruc? At least he's 'keeper-sized.

Dabrowski is better than all 3 keepers we have. It’s incredible we find ourselves in a position with goalkeepers like this again. It points to really amateurish recruitment procedures that a young goalie not deemed good enough is replaced with terrible goalkeepers.

That was the word that came to mind last night. His body language after the second I thought was bizarre too. And nothing from his teammates towards him, more worried about trying not to blame him, no sign of any inquest. Where are the standards. The third it's almost like he's trying to make a camera save and what a mess he's made of it.

He was signed as a back-up goalie with no intention of playing. He's been happy as a back-up his whole career and said as much in his interview. With Bursik have our recruitment team fallen into the trap we've seen over the years of 'well he's played in the english championship so he must be good', as a justification for the lack of alternative?

There's no way Smith can go back in. I think unfortunately it has to be Bursik back in with a rocket up his arse.

We started by signing our new no.1 in summer, it’s been a disaster really for a club our size flashing 1million bids for a midfielder late in the window whilst a strong goalie hadn’t been scouted and signed. Your spot on for me it’s tantamount to our lazy recruiting of years gone by where we scout players thinking he’s played at a decent level must have something. Nonsense!sign a goalie who’s down in the mud most weeks losing his voice shouting at the defence.

Was it not him that came on last season at the PBS and played well
Has to be better than the two incumbents before him.

Think Boruc is in the bomb squad with a couple of other guys who are probably better than players getting regular minutes in the first team.

Either play Boruc or bring in a free agent on a game by game basis. Jamal Blackman is a free agent.. and actually capable of making saves.

Seriously, there must be some free agent goalies out there who are better than the two clowns we have at Hibs, who would be happy to sign for a month or three, or at least to see us through to the Jan window.

The last guy back in 2016 didn't do too badly.

Has anyone seen enough of him to provide an informed opinion? I know he's had a couple of first team appearances but I didn't see either of them. Anyone watch him regularly in the development team?

I find it hard to imagine he could be any more nerve-shredding than the two we've tried so far this season.

A solid keeper should not be the hardest thing to find. Said it before, a keeper doesn't need to be incredible, just somebody your team-mates can trust more often than not. Every keeper will make a horrible mistake now and again but it should be a rarity they can brush off. Off the top of my head, Nick Colgan was a good example, albeit he played behind a much better team than the current lot. Generally solid if unspectacular.
