Unfinished business with Hibs and I reckon he could be our Sam Allardyce,

Some may laugh but name someone who could put fight into that gutless lot.

Allardyce generally saved clubs from getting relegated.

Hughes has a habit of getting clubs relegated.

I’d have him as interim if the search takes a while

He’d be able to put a team together instantly, make them scared not to perform/try

A winner with a sub 40% win ratio as a manager and 2 relegations on his CV. What a winner.

Ah yes, rule by fear in a relegation battle. That's worked well in the past.

Things are terrible at the moment but surely this is just a joke to lighten the mood. Terrible manager and has a decent amount of relegations under his belt

I can’t see Gray surviving now .. I’m not wanting Yogi , Lennon or some of the other names mentioned … again don’t know if we could get them though two I’d like us to consider is one, Bloomfield who won again and are flying.. the first goal scorer I seen in a previous game ( Kone) score a hat trick coming off the bench and the second goal scorer looked good too …. https://youtu.be/CcwjP7H2APA?si=e_VndX7O835VcmuT

The second option would be Schumacher who I think is out of work that imo got a raw deal at Stoke .

Much as I respect Yogi as far as it goes, it’s an equally bad idea as Lennon. Why look for those who haven’t managed to sustain managerial success, when we already have had that appointment after appointment?

I'm grateful to Collins for the 2007 LC win, regardless of how much he benefitted from the prior work done by Mowbray.

But he is the very definition of 'talks the talk, but can't walk the walk'.

John's excellent at espousing platitudes about attractive football, but if you look at his total managerial & coaching career... he's been unable to actually implement said platitudes into concrete results.

Tom has said if we offer it to him, Jerrys in.

ffs our club is a mess. So … anyway … nae fun just now. But it’ll bottom out as ever, been on this rollercoaster for a while .. it’s how it is … even our maroon neighbours … with all the free cash and going bust to rid their debts to get back to where they are … haven’t cracked it. It’s a rollercoaster …

That was horrendous. We were well on for the Cup double but the egos got in the way. Ken JC had an ego himself but he was the boss and those professionals were two wins away from untouchable status. Wild.

Likewise. But it all fizzled out once the previous era players moved on. The players he brought in to replace them were pretty abysmal for the most part.

Was it not Tommy Craig who "scouted" most of the incoming players?

I was really disappointed when JC appeared to throw in the towel not long after East Mains was opened and to this day I'd really like to know the reason..

Collins was promised money from the sale of Thomson , Whitaker by Petrie. Rod then moved the goalposts and gave him nothing. Collins then walked.

He may have scouted the players, but he wasn't the one who decided whether they actually got a contract or not. The manager negotiates with the board and if he's impressed with what has been scouted, he can then decide whether to offer that player a contract or not based on the available budget. John Collins had the final say on those players coming in and was ultimately responsible for managing them properly.

Yip, I get that, but at the same time JC was a rookie Manager so he placed reliance on Tommy Craig to identify the players whom he thought would improve the team. Hindsight proves otherwise.

Anyway, it's water under the bridge but as another poster has already said - JC was a Manager before his time.

John Collins would be perfect in Mackays Role and Yogi in till end of season with a view to extending things we have been down road with ***** appointments since Lennon all about opinions but Yogi is great with youth look at Falkirk and he won the cup in charge at Inverness and kept Ross county up that is what we need to stay up and consolidate but I think we could go down way things are
