First goal is pathetic from Kwon and not for the first time this season switching off to let a man score. Disappointed in how Kwon has turned out.
Youan hits post - nice bit of play but has to shoot across the keeper there.
Second goal - Obviously brutal from O'Hora and Bursik but also no idea why Marv doesn't go over to the boy with the ball.
Boyle's penalty, bit soft but prob just a foul? He only has a short run up which looked suspect before he took it so no surprise he missed. Pathetic penalty.
Second pen a clear handball from Gogic.
Disallowed goal - clearly hits Gayle in an offside position and both him and Newell know it straight away. That goal ( if stood) may have saved David Gray's job, but not to be. Was a great strike from N Cadden.

Did you think the earlier handball that hit their big number 5 was a penalty. Only seen it quickly but looked like one to me

I’m not going to put myself through the suffering of watching the highlights but I didn’t think so at the time on Hibs TV. Ball was booted at him at speed from close distance and his hands were in what I would call a natural position.
One of those that I wouldn’t be surprised to see given against Hibs but would feel very hard done by if it was.
From a neutral football fan point of view, its penalty’s for things like that (and last week’s shirt pull) that are ruining the game to some degree.

Never a pen for me.

Thought it was a decent shout at the time but was quickly dismissed although who knows if that means anything these days.

If Marv closes the boy who scores too early it’s a simple pass to the striker who has the entirety of Easter road to score. He was trying to cut off the pass whilst close the angle imo
There’s only one place the boy can score from that angle and it’s a shot across the keeper to the far corner. In no way should he get it in the near post where bursik is standing

How pathetic is Bursik for the 2nd? The fact he’s over-compensated to cover his near post and still can’t even make a good attempt at a save shows how utterly ranc he is. Rip up his loan and play one of our youth keepers.

I understand your viewpoint mate, and I remember having discussions with players on my team when I played 11's about scenarios like this. The guy who has the ball is the main danger though IMO, he is in a shooting position and for me Marv has to get over. His teammates are getting back to help him out. Bit like Stokes in the final v Huns - Balogun hedged his bets too much towards the middle not thinking Stokes could score from there. McMenamin isnt wide enough today for Marv to back off like that IMO
Absolutely agree the keeper should do better.

That would be my thought. Your job as a defender in that situation is to try and stop the danger and that was the man with the ball. If you force a pass it may go astray or make the other player check and your team mates can get back. He was at fault imo but considering the ridiculous efforts of O'Hora and Bursik it is lesser of the evils

January cannot come soon enough. Signing a new keeper any time after New Year's Day will be too late.

I’m the goalies biggest hater but there’s not a chance in hell folk can be blaming him for the second goal, it’s an absolute Chernobyl from O’Hora, and the not the first time he’s sold the jerseys either

Just because O'Hora makes a dreadful mistake doesn't mean that Bursik shouldn't be doing better. Blame for goals can lay at multiple sources.

Of course you’re right about O’Hora but that doesn’t absolve Bursic. It’s a pathetic attempt to save it. I would save that shot, all he had to do is stand up and let it hit him FFS
Re the highlights. Boyle is also shocking for the first goal. He can easily stop that cross with a bit more effort.

Agree with the Marv one there is a time imo he does need to go over to try to affect the shot. Thought he also should have closed the angle for the first United goal up there when Middleton crossed in. In saying that Marv imo has been a shining light recently. Think O’Hora has been poor this launching the ball out the pitch under no pressure is brutal.

First goal Boyle doesn't do enough, Kwon also at fault. He just let the scorer go and could have stopped the cross being converted to a goal.

Both as culpable as each other IMO. Staggered that he was beaten so easily and he’s near enough dived out the way of the shot.
No one comes out of that well, O’hora makes the error but competence gets him out of jail, both from his defensive partner and from his goalkeeper.

Marv has been really good at bossing opposition strikers but doesn't come across to cover when our right side make mistakes. Happens quite a lot.

We get so narrow in defence. It leaves massive gaps. I can understand why Obita is stranded further second goal because we are in transition and gambling on making a significant break from our left.
The first goal, not so much. If we are going to play narrow, surely it’s incumbent on Boyle to fill the gap left by Cadden being pulled central? He does react to the St Mirren player in acres if space but I feel too slowly.
Then the angle may give a false impression of how close the cross ball is to Cadden but couldn’t understand, at the time and also from these pictures, why he’s not getting his head to that.
It’s hard to be a Hibee right now 🫣

Another for his goalsreel of catastrophic goalkeeping errors in attempting to stop a shot on goal or errors that have led to a goal
Has he ever saved a shot on target ( serious question) ?
A goalkeeper is supposed to make himself bigger and spread himself like a vomit and narrow the angle he only succeeds in making himself smaller
Imperative he is replaced in January regardless of SDG being in situ or not
Whoever agreed the three year deal for Smith who offers no competition deserves to be dismissed

I genuinely can't work out what Bursik is doing for the 2nd at all. It's not even like he was doing that starfish type technique young keepers are taught when defending one on ones now. He literally just sits down. If he just stood up and stuck his foot out he would have saved it. Unconventional but who would have cared? It's an utterly bizarre attempt at a save. O'Hora obviously equally as culpable.
First goal is pathetic from Kwon and Boyle. We are beating ourselves at the moment.

He actually made an excellent save from a header in the second half. Gogic then headed over. Absolutely woeful at the second goal though and far too often the same players are mentioned and at least partially share blame for goals we are conceding. Kwon, Boyle, Miller, Bursik and Obita and Marv earlier in the season. Obita and Marv seem to have upped their game and both are doing fine. The others should probably be on teh bench to give squad players a chance of staking a claim.
Depressing watching those highlights, probably better described as lowlights.

From the West Upper, it looked as if Bursik dived in the wrong direction. It certainly didn’t look as if he was diving towards the ball.

I was quite close to that end, in the West Stand, section 2, and at the time it it looked like he saved it.
I could be wrong, but he got a round of applause from the fans around me.

Watching it back on Sportscene the ball seemed to strike the bar from Taylor’s header
The view from behind the goal seemed to confirm this the goalie did put his hand up but there seemed to be no touch
