View Full Version : Who's next up for a few months as Hibs manager?

He's here!
09-11-2024, 02:55 PM
Gray will presumably be relieved of his duties this weekend so who's next?

Based on the incompetence of our club in appointing managers the next boss will only be here for a few months so do we just turn to Mackay, distasteful as that would be to some?

A BK appointment, presumably someone who wont be suggested by fans at this stage.

Gordon’s should be nowhere near the decision.

Has to be McInnes because he’ll insist he gets full control over signings and he knows what he’s doing.

Don't think it really matters with those players.
We are ***** and look nailed on for relegation .

I disagree. Turning this ship around shouldn’t be hard. It hurts me to finally admit it but Gray is beyond hopeless.

It doesn't matter. As long as the Gordons own the club we will forever be the biggest laughing stock in the country.

He wouldn’t join us at the start of what in theory was a promising season for us. Why would he have changed his mind since.

That ship has sailed, sadly. Were I Derek McInnes I'd rather pour sulphuric acid in my ear than come here.

Not a chance he'd get full control so not a chance he'd come.

If the owners had a clue they'd have appointed him long ago.

No, but he signed a new contract at Kilmarnock just as we were beginning our so called recruitment process. That’s a statement of no interest.

Another manager who "gets Hibs" no doubt. Not one that "gets Hibs out of relegation."

The last time we advertised for a Head Coach, the best candidate was David Gray.

The recruitment pool has been shrinking every year. An out of work coach that nobody wants is the most likely outcome.

Trinity Hibee

Not many free agents we could get. Robinson would be an obvious candidate from the league but can’t think of many. I’d hope Black Knights have a list of good coaches.

He wasn’t though. He was the only candidate because he was always getting the job from the get go

Give McInnes or Robinson what they want and let them control what they want.

At least we’ll see an organised team who’ll know what they’re supposed to be doing.

Or let the bk’s bring someone in, that way we’re more likely to get players from the group as they’ll want there guy to be a success

The reasons you list are exactly why he won't be in with a shout.

Also the functioning eyes in his skull will have him ruling himself out

McInnes
Robinson
Kettlewell

Or someone that Black Knights have done due diligence on and oversee the appointment. If it's our bunch of cretins picking the next manager then we'd be as well getting the 'whoever out' thread up and running now because it will be a disaster.

If there is a change and Black Knights are running it it won't be any manager currently managing in Scotland. I think we would be failing it we didn't ask Mowbray.

Not so sure about that

Auckland FC they appointed an experienced manager in the A League and for Lorient they appointed a manager experienced in Ligue 1

Both clubs doing well

They might go for someone experienced in the Scottish leagues based on that

It won’t matter till changes above in management.

I will be raging even more if they sack gray and keeper Samson / Craig and May.

Marshall and MM should be away too.

The next manager will get to the split to try and push us into safety. Failure to do that and maybe Big Sam will getting a call for a bottom six firefight in a last throw of the dice.

Then start the ‘25/‘26 campaign with a new man in the hot seat.

It’s a few years since I’ve had a Hibs calendar, so wondering if they feature the manager at all in any of the months? Pretty sure they used to as recall getting a signature from one at the signing evening. Maybe abandoned that idea in recent years to make things a bit easier.

If we’re going down, it might as well be under somebody we already dislike, rather than a club legend like Gray.
