They also credited Youan with Obita’s shot in the first half.

Sure it was hamstring issues that ended his season at Derby last season.

Hopefully not another one that we struggle to get on the park.

He's about 62 - needs a bit of rest between games.

I think we could really do with him being fit for Sunday.

Previously I’ve been a fan of Myko but I think he’s lumbering / toiling a bit at the moment.

A big man up front often tempts poorer Hibs teams to go long too often, albeit it didn’t really stop us when Gayla was up front against Hearts the other week.

Gayle was clearly walking with a bit of a limp after the game on Sunday. Hopefully, he’s not out for too long.

I thought he would turn out to be a big game player and was disappointed he didn’t take one of his chances against Hearts But he clearly is a good player and will come good in future games if we can keep him fit

Derby fans said his hamstrings were like violin strings. I’m not expecting him to play many games for us unfortunately.

A 35 year old striker with hamstring issues last season.
What could possibly go wrong!

Is there any young players that can come off the bench, josh Landers etc?

Last I heard Josh has a broken arm, hopefully he's well on the way to recovery though.

Tight hamstring and limping after Sunday. Given the previous hamstring issues that'll be him until after the next international break you'd imagine.

Leaves us with Kukharevych and McKirdy. Pretty grim.

Might have to play Youan or Boyle up top

Not looking promising already this signing, Gray said after the game today ‘he was back on the grass this week’. So knowing our luck he might not be seen until 2025.

So we have the injury prone Myko, the injury prone Bowie, the injury prone Gayle, and Harry McKirdy.

Quite astonishing.

He was another post window, journeyman signing with questionable fitness. Undoubted talent of course but a signing which is typical of our flawed recruitment policy under the Gordons.

We're now predictably short up front. At some point we will grow a backbone and drive these so called custodians out of our football club. Until we do, we'll get more of the same.

He should be out for the next month but has said he’ll play if needed. So likely he’ll have to start next week then make his injury worse and we’ll barely see him again

Gayle doesn’t really have questionable fitness, played over 360 games in his career and missed something like 54 games, an average of 4 games a season

I think he missed more last season than any other

That's the due diligence point

Correct. Due to hamstring problems last season.

We seem to sign players that are deemed injury prone, McGeady as an example, who are then shown that they aren’t actually injury prone because of x, y & z but who then go on to be injured for large parts of their Hibs careers.

We now have a striker, signed after the window closed, who has been available for 4 games since he signed and unavailable for 3. The summer window looks poorer with each passing week.

Good experienced intelligent player to have in your side

Great at winning free kicks encouraging and cajoling his team mates and chipping in with a goal and a couple of assists

Hopefully he can avoid injury get up to speed and start to put more minutes in as we approach a busy period

I don't want to bash one player at the expense of others but I thought wee things like what you seen in Rocky and Campbells goals this week was a bit of a difference in what we're getting from Myko in open play at the moment. Would like to see him draw some more starts especially after Celtic in games that are more winnable and we can play on a front foot.

It was a great header to set up Campbell who, credit where it's due, finished brilliantly.

I thought his experience and class really showed when he came on today. That might be the role for him though, making an impact later in games. That said, the one game he did start against Hearts, he got plenty chances.

His assist for Rocky was massive - such a great header under pressure.

Similar to ALF he doesn’t seem like he needs much time in the park to make a difference.

Guys like them their quality and game intelligence shines through even if they are older
