Not surprised in the slightest.
Cue Rashford banging in the goals now.

According to the bbc, 645 million, in 2 and a bit seasons. A net spend of over 400 million.

Wow…..and one of the highest wage bills in the league, if not the highest. Money invested and wages spent on players not making a positive contribution, sounds familiar🤔

Ten Hag like so many others before him hung out to dry by the losers in his squad. Manager after manager let down by underperforming overpaid wasters.

A lot like the situation David gray has found himself in.

Leopards don’t change their spots.

He signed most of them. Casemiro and Anthony 2 dreadful signings cost 140 million.

He didn’t sign underperformers like Dalot , Shaw , McGuire , Fernandes , Rashford , Lindelof to name a few.

No, he signed his own guys who were also mostly crap. And didn't ship any of those guys out when he could have.

He inherited a team the majority of which had underperformed for years and tried it change things by bringing in his own players , guys he knew he could trust but unfortunately he couldn’t shift the dross out the door.

Paid the price in the end.

He has spent £645m. He could have fielded a team not containing a single player he inherited if his signings were any good. No way can you spend that amount of money and 2 1/2 years later blame the players he inherited.

GK - Onana (£50m)
LB - Malacia (£15m)
CB - Martinez (£57m)
CB - De Ligt (£45m)
RB - Mazraiou (£15m)

CM - Casimero (£70m)
CM - Ugarte (£50m)
AM - Mount (£64m)

LW - Zirkzee (£42m)
RW - Antony (£95m)
CF - Hojlund (£73m)

He could have shifted the deadwood. He just didn't.
Anthony is one of the worst transfers in football history. He signed Malacia for left back. Shaw is easily better.
He signed Casemiro for CDM. Mainoo took his place, on an 20th of the wage.
Hojlund is huge outlay, and while very talented, not enough goals for that price.
Zirkzee wants to leave already
Mount 60 million, done nothing.

Arsenal signed a better former Ajax player in Timber than any Ten Hag attracted.

Not a single one signed this summer has hit the ground running either. He very much deserved sacked, and it isn't Harry Maguire s fault.

An object lesson in how to waste an awful lot of money. Many of these players have close to zero resale value.

From one time Hibs employee Ben Jacobs

🚨 Ruben Amorim has verbally agreed to become Manchester United manager.

Sources in Portugal say Amorim has already said yes to #MUFC.

Manchester United and Sporting now working on compensation. Amorim has a €10m clause, as @David_Ornstein first called.

Jez , didn’t think it was as much as that .

Random thought, could’ve bought all of the clubs in Scotland with that cash alone ?

Interesting thought that’s a bit frightening too though.. certainly buy everything outside the old firm easy enough.
