Sad news. He was a great player for Bo’ness United. Used to love watching him when I lived there. Scored 2 in the Junior Cup Final in 1984 IIRC. Only had sight in one eye as well.

Played against him a absolute nightmare
He was so quick and and powerful
I go walking up the braids most days and he was always there
Seen him there on Tuesday
A real shock when I heard today

Ah mind his laddie played for us and was excellent in the 2-1 derby win in 2004 when Benji scored.

Anyway. Here’s Lex’s greatest moment https://youtu.be/R_naBbHu_AU?si=5KG-UBYTND1hddQ4

Jay Shields Lex’s laddie played in the 2-1 win over Hearts as per Winston was a good player liked to get stuck in loved a tackle

Dunno but that was the game ( 2006 ) when Benji came on as a sub scored the winner in front of the FF his first for us and thought it would be a good idea to celebrate in front of the South Zibi had to push him back up the park

Jeez C, must have only been in his early 60’s?
Can remember when they had a Stewart’s v Captain’s charity game back in the day, think he scored about 5 goals!! I thought I’d won the ball a few times only to look back and he was about 20 yards away with the ball!! 🤣🤣

His other laddie is Dene. Had a nomadic career, think he was last turning out for Brechin after a few spells abroad.
