But they don’t half out us through the wringer.
Dwight’s post match was particularly deflating.
No point in feeling sorry. Time for the players to step up.

The supporters step up time and time again.
It's time they gave us something back.

Might be waiting a long time for the players to step up. We watched the two boys who “got Hibs” leave at the end of last season.
Perhaps Gayle’s rousing words will get some fires lit but i’m not holding my breath. Zero connection with any of that squad now.

None of this dog's breakfast that our club currently is has anything to do with the support. If numbers were directly linked to performances recently there'd be very few there.

And what a place the "two boys who got Hibs" left us in.
It's nothing to do with "getting" a club. It's to do with performing better than the other team. Does Glenn Middleton "get Dundee Utd" or is Miller just ***** at defending for example.

Correct. Folk get a bit upset when this is mentioned, or how our squad has the lowest % of home grown players. As if this doesn’t impact on the connection between club to fans, general atmosphere around the stadium.
We let 2 Hibs legends leave the club (prematurely IMO, both would still be starting for me) - and replaced them with journeymen.
The squad is the most bland it has been for decades, possibly ever? Little wonder they don’t have the character to see out games and stand up for themselves. Personality vacuum in that dressing room and on the park.
An experienced pro in Gayle has called it out a matter of weeks since arriving. Not good.

You need players there who know the club inside out, keep the connection with the fanbase.
Otherwise you end up with what we have now. How many of that current squad would run through a wall for the team?
Guys like Lewis, Paul, Daz etc…had their limitations but they bust a gut week in week out. There’s no fight on display at the moment.

I genuinely think the club has a load of employees who really don’t care about the future of the club and just think short term and usually about £££.
It’s all about potential for me - don’t us Hibs to win the league but make the most of our resources and punch our weight.
We feel like we are constantly under performing / achieving without much hope for improving and changing.

If the players we had now hadn't got themselves sent off, or had scored the guilt edged chances we've had at times in every game so far this season there would be plenty connection with the fanbase.
The fact that Lewis & Paul were Hibs fans didn't stop everyone feeling a disconnect when we were getting pumped by teams last season.

I didn’t watch til the very end but his rousing words seemed despondent.

It probably just hit him what he let himself for by signing for us.
