Maybe give the Gidi Grill a go? West African and Caribbean cuisine in City Square. Very reasonably priced.

Flame Tree Cafe is a good cafe and Kiwi themed I believe - you can buy TimTams and the like.

The Bach does tasty food too.

Davies Ice Cream Parlour in Lochee does a cracking full cooked breakfast at a very good price, they also have their own ice cream if you can manage pudding as well. You may have to wait for a table though as it’s very popular and not a very big place.

I deal with a few places in Dundee through my work and of course they are all wonderful:greengrin

I'd recommend the Dundee Espresso Lab; good coffee and homemade Italian pastries and breads.

Also Tahini which is Lebanese cuisine. It's all tapas/small plates style and worth a visit imo.

I used to deal with him through my work. If you do go there just walk out without paying, he seems to think paying is optional for him so maybe it applies to his customers as well:wink:

If you want a pub lunch, go to Phoenix on Perth Road.

Any suggestions other than Halley's for Hibs-friendly pubs in the general direction of the ground?

I asked my sister in law, who lives in Broughty Ferry, for suggestions. Her response was to bring a packed lunch 👍

I agree with this, Desperate Dan sized portions too. ☺️

Thanks all, much appreciated, will give them all a look.

Am guessing there's not much in the way of on street parking in the vicinity of the ground?

So that’s how he keeps his prices down. :greengrin

My favourite Dundee pub.

Speedwell on Perth Road is a great place to sit as well. Nice selection of whiskies and beers too.

Used to go there on a Sunday morning for free bacon rolls after a game at the Riverside pitches. Excellent pub.

The Tay Bridge Bar a few yards along the road from there is good too. 👍

Frews is usually mix of home and away. Bowbridge Bar is a Dundee fans pub which would be fine for Hibs fans on Saturday but bit rough…
Been in the Snug Bar which will be all home fans but fine if you don’t have colours on, 5 minutes from the ground

Heavy roadworks on the A90 outside Dundee at the moment. I would encourage all supporters to give plenty of time to get to the game on Saturday.

I've done my usual and booked into Andrew Fairlie's at the Gleneagles Hotel for an early lunch. With two Michelin stars, the chef can be relied upon to serve up a treat, and although the designated driver has to burn rubber (AA 'recovery' types have their uses) we should make Tannadice in good time.

Northbound and Southbound B. Contraflow between Longforgan and Invergowrie.

Club will note in supporter information ahead of the game.

Plenty good pubs in the Ferry but you are driving all the way through Dundee just to drive back again for the match. Could try Doc Stewart’s. Just off the Kingsway but only 5 mins from the ground

For anybody that likes a wee Saturday afternoon punt on the horses, Caws Bar is good for the racing, cheap as chips too.

The Gleneagles crowd are awfully dull though, no conversation except inheritance tax, private school league tables and property prices.

Get out quick lest they put you into a coma!

Last time I was in Dundee I parked at the V&A and had a decidedly quirky lunch at their cafe, if that helps.

Beetroot tart with mixed leaves, if memory serves.

Shocking choice. Before Fairlie it had three stars. I won't go back until the third star is returned.

If you want to recommend a three star lunch venue within driving distance to Tannadice, I'm all ears...

A90 still looks the preferred route instead of A92, over the bridge and through Dundee. A bit extra time than normal required to negotiate the roadworks.

Plan to move the car from city centre to somewhere around Clepington Road - hopefully I can find parking relatively easily
