What do you genuinely believe is the best and worst we may see this season? Here's mine and I'm probably thinking 70% worst and 30% best in terms of probability between the two:

Best

Club: Accounts are somehow not as bad as feared, land a decent sponsor from somewhere, link with BK starts to work
Team: Scottish Cup quarter final, finish 6th
Manager: Gets bedded in, learns as he goes, improves and survives season
Support: Bond re-established with team as we start to string some results and grind our way back

Worst

Club: Bad accounts, ass covering statements, ritual sacrificing of other staff as scapegoats, same people promising same jam tomorrow after another catastrophe
Team: Fails to gel, confidence shot, negative spiral with support, dressing room goes
Manager: Sacked after run of little or no wins, Mackay appointed
Support: Just stops attending, reduced to core, apathy takes over

Best: David Gray battles on for a (lower) top six finish.
Worst: Malky McKay’s Hibs are relegated by Hearts on the last day of the season.

Best 4th.
Worst 12th.

Still think either are possible

Best - we bravely climb to a respectable 4th place finish, win the Scottish cup and have European football to look forward to next season. Josh Campbell celebrates his winning goal in the cup final with the best GIRFUY celebration to his own fans ever seen.

Worst - after a whirlwind change of ownership following abuse of the Gordons getting out of hand, our new owners rule out the possibility of remaining a going concern at Easter Road and push for a move to a new stadium on the outskirts of the city, with shedloads of student flats proposed to be built on our ground after the site is sold.

The worst will certainly be relegation. Celebrating our 150th anniversary in the championship would be such a Hibs thing to do.

**** sake. Hadn't even thought about that. But you're not wrong.

Personally think best -5th and worst 10th.

Best - Probably a derby win and scraping top 6

Worst - Not beating Hearts and bottom six

For me personally the season is all about staying up , hopefully making the top 6 and spending the next few windows trying to fix out the shambolic state of affairs Ian Gordon has left us in regarding the playing side of the club.

Best: 5th
Worst: 12th

I don't think we'll go down even ifbwr have a poor season, I do think there's a good few teams worse off than us, and it might be wishful thinking but I genuinely see signs of improvement, but until we can start putting the ball in the ball in the net, I've got a fear we'll be like the Dundee Utd team a couple of years ago who played well against everyone but kept coming up short, and ended up crashing and burning at the end of the season.

I don't think we'll be good enough to snatch a European place, although that 4th spot is any ones, the biggest frustration about our start is the fact Hearts are rotten too, we could've put a healthy gap between us by now and that would've created a buzz and feel good factor.

The business we do in January will determine how our season goes, we need to get more goals into the side.

By January the season could well be a total write off, unless new signings save us from a relegation dogfight.

Best scenario is mid table-worst is a relegation struggle.

Best:
Hampden in the Scottish cup final, flukey draw and a final against Celtic in which we battle bravely but are horsed.
Top 6 finish.

Worst:
3from 3 derby losses - beating us kick starts hearts season and they go on to finish 3rd.
Dalbeattie Star knock us out the cup.
We finish 9th.
“Every **** out” banners appear.

Best: 6th, best of the derbies and a painful semi final to Celtic/Rangers/Aberdeen
Worst: 11th, worst of the derbies and losing to Ayr United or Livingston in the playoff

Personally I reckon it will be somewhere in between the two. Nothing surprising but not the worst possible outcome either. Just another underwhelming 8-9th finish with nothing of note to speak of.

Best: win the Cup.
Worst: not win the Cup.

Best - win the Cup, finish fourth, Gray develops nicely

Worst - finish tenth, knocked out the Cup by Kelty, Gray sacked in November and replaced by Levein.

The best I can see is a Lee Johnson Hibs scenario heading after the split in 5th/6th with a good chance of chasing down 4th. And getting europe.

The worst I can see would be anywhere between 8th and 10th. Look at the goals we have scored this season - I think even when we are struggling we do have individual quality to get goals from nothing - I think that would prevent us from being dragged into to any trouble.

I am still hopeful of a better than best scenario.

Worst - 11th

Best, we beat Falkirk 6-0 in the play offs despite 6 blatant handballs in each of the build ups.

It’s got an air of inevitability about it.

If performances and results stay the same until January would say

Best QF cup and a lower half league position.

Worst 11th and in a relegation fight.

I was going to suggest Trump gets in, nuclear war ensues and we all die, but the poster who suggested we get knocked out the cup by Kelty and end up with Levein in charge beat me to the bleakest possible outcome.

Best - 4th place. I think there’s very little chance of a cup win for anyone outside the OF. Also think Aberdeen are already pretty much out of sight.

Worst - Relegation.

I don’t think either of them are particularly likely and I expect we’ll end up 8th or 9th, fairly safely clear off playoff/relegation and never particularly threatening top half.

Best - I think 4th from our current position would be remarkable. I just can’t see Aberdeen dropping that many points unfortunately. They have the bond with the fans / players / management - that we should be aiming for but we need to build some momentum.

4/4 derby wins and relegating Hearts.

Winning more than 2 games in a row and going on a good run of form.

A positive experience at Hampden.

Manager - is brave and starts dropping players for mistakes that are costing us.

Worst outcome would be relegation - would be a total disaster. We really need to start moving up the table as it’s been a terrible start to the season with 1 win in 7 league games (including Kelty loss in the league cup).

While I wouldn't bet against it, I think there's quite a lot much of muchness in this league, Aberdeen will stay out of reach and Motherwell might give 4th a right good go to, but I think there'll be a big cluster of clubs from 5-12th for most of the season.

Best. We avoid a relegation play off spot

Worst. We don’t avoid a relegation play off spot.

Best - 7th
Worst - 10th

We are a bottom six club but St Johnstone and Ross County will be below us. Possibly Dundee too.

Best: The SFA/SPFL ban drums, megaphones and sirens.

Worst: I get stuck next to the drummer and guy with the megaphone at every away game.
