Lots of positives to take from Ibrox. Felt we deserved at least a draw but what I really liked was the way we looked like a team who were working hard all over the pitch for each other.

Next up Motherwell..oddly after this game on the 5th we don’t have another game till 19th October !

Our next home game after Saturday will be Hearts on the Sunday 27t October.

Motherwell have won 5 out of last 6 games - only loss being to Aberdeen 2–1. They have beaten Hearts, St Mirren, St Johnstone and Dundee Utd plus Killie in cup.

They have Lennon Miller playing who is one of the brightest young players in Scotland - he’s just turned 18.

Few other notable players like Paul McGinn, Andy Halliday and Stephen O’Donnell.

They play 3 at the back with a system which looks like a 3-4-2-1. Casey (left of back 3) was sent off yesterday so assume he will be suspended. Most of their matches this season the opposition has had more ball possession too so expect Hibs to have the ball more.

Hibs need to be winning this…Hibs currently on 5 points with only 1 win from 6 matches and Motherwell on 10 points.

Hibs unbeaten in 3 games against Motherwell- though they beat Hibs in April 2023 at Easter Road 3-1.

Hibs record since 2013 at home against them is pretty good - think it’s 15 games and only 3 Motherwell wins. Hibs 8 wins and other 4 draws.

Are we expecting Newell and Boyle to be available ?

I would start same team assuming all fit. Hopefully a good crowd for this game to help the team get the win.

There have been positives in the last few games, a lot to do with being better in the middle of the park. But we need to start putting points on the board, we need to get the season moving and we need to win this game.

Wouldn’t be rushing to make too many changes to what we saw today. Would get Boyle back in to the team if available.

Something I’ve just looked at but can’t find answer is the last time we won 2 games in a row in the league ?

Anyone know ? We definitely could do with going on a winning run to build momentum and feel good factor.

I wonder if Triantis is okay after going off with that knock.

I wonder if Triantis is okay after going off with that knock.

I didn’t really see what happened but I think it was partly a knock and partly him just being knackered. He’d put a hell of a shift in and covered a lot of ground. He was very good, again.

Lennon Miller for me is the best player in the league outside the old firm. Stop him dictating play we win.

Very different game to the last one with much more onus on Hibs to attack. Think it will be more of a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 rather than the defend and counter attack approach at Ibrox.

If everyone was fit and on form I'd think it might be
Bursic

Miller O'Hora Ekpiteta Obita

Kwon Triantis

Boyle Hoillett Youan

Myko

The "fit and on form" bit might rule out Boyle and Youan, but think it will be something along those lines.

Don’t think we change much from the weekend. We still created chances though we do need to convert them. Have we had any updates about Boyle or Newell ?

Not that I'm aware of. Having had a hernia op myself, I'd suspect it will take longer for Newell to return than Boyle who, presumably, could play with a cast or protective splint of some sort to prevent reinjuring his wrist (not that that seemed to work before )

Would love it if Bournemouth signed him and loaned him to us for a 1/2 years. Would seem to make sense for all parties. They get a top Scottish prospect, we get a young Scottish player we can’t afford and the player gets to move up a level from Motherwell to continue his development safe in the knowledge he has a route to the premiership.

Motherwell definitely one of the leagues form teams at the moment, so if we can beat them it will be a real sign that our performance on Sunday wasn't just down to an allegedly tired Sevco team and us raising our game.

Whatever the case this is exactly the game any fan should look forward to .... yes a disparity in finances between us and them, but not enough to make the result in any way inevitable and Motherwell should bring a decent away support.

We need to bloody win this one though :greengrin

This is only our 2nd game against a team in last years bottom 6, we've won the 1st game. if we continue on the vein we'll be fine.

I'd think we will have enough to win on Saturday, i wouldn't make too many changes. Possibly Rudi for Campbell but the rest seems to pick it's self just now.

Thinking it will be the same lineup as last week unless SDG sees it differently with maybe Youan coming back in the starting to lineup.

Will be great to have both Joe and Boyle back in contention, will be a tough game, one which we should be looking at winning, win the midfield battle and convert our chances.

Is Triantis fit? Will wait and see whether Joe or Martin available have my doubts especially with another break next week

Sounds like Triantis just had cramp and him and Newell should be available. Boyle sounded slightly less likely, but maybe available too.

Should be a good game. Motherwell is expecting to be through a bigger support than normal. One Well fan I know said he feels like half the town is going, I know an over-the-top statement but shows there is a level of excitement within their support for this game

Over many years now the Hibs v Motherwell fixture has proven to be one of the more attractive on the list.

More often than not they are entertaining games both at Easter Road and Fir Park.

Looking forward to Saturday and feel quite optimistic about getting another home win.

Big few weeks to determine the feel around the club for the season with the derby at the end of the month.

Feeling more positive about the way we are shaping up but need to start with 3 points Saturday to build on, we won't get away with starting the first 45mins like we did v St J.

Hoping for a good start for the team tomorrow.

Thought we did well last week in first half ?

Last week for the first time in a while where I felt the whole game we looked like a team.

Today is really going to be an interesting game to see how we do.

We really need the win to move up the table and get more points on the board.

FYI, Lochend Road is a nightmare at the best of times on match days, but its got temp lights nearer the bottom and down to 1 lane. Best avoided for folk driving where possible

Would have been good to have him in the squad but I’d only make the one change from last week and that would be Rudi for Josh. I’d be tempted to drop Cadden for Youan and have him and Hoilett out wide but I reckon SDG will stick with Cadds. Youan is very short on match fitness and confidence.
