for a celtic or rangers penalty they seem to check every possible angle twice over to see if they can find contact for a pen, With us id be surprised if they even look at it never mind have multiple angles.

The one I was wondering about was , seeing as the Killie player was sent off against Aberdeen for endangering an opponent , did VAR look at Ndaba’s challenge on Miller ? .

whats with the refs coaching the rangers players not to tackle then says he plays the ball once he does, never heard him do it for ross county

I enjoyed watching that, typically Celtic and rangers heavy but it was interesting to see how they come to decisions and them speaking to each other.

The don’t dive in there Tom is a bit weird tho aint it brushed over by announcing the refs been coached through why that was a free kick….didnt touch the ball mate both feet into the tackle, it was pretty clear why that was a foul

I thought it was a fairly interesting show and an opportunity to hear at least a little of what the var and refs are saying.

Probably not going to be a popular view but I thought Colum explained the decisions quite well. He acknowledged refs got one or two decisions wrong on the park but that var couldn't get involved. I didn't have any major arguments with the incidents that were highlighted anyway. I thought perhaps one player who wrongly got a yellow for simulation might have that rescinded at a later date but apparently not since var couldn't get involved.

I think diving/cheating should come under the remit of VAR. If a player has clearly tried to con the referee they should be punished at the time.

Yeah shame that wasn't included but surely it'll come out on the list as an error, after the first phase of games is complete. Crazy that the VAR didn't ask the ref to review that again, clear red card.

I think the program was pretty well done and Collum did quite well. Not sure why they felt the need to review the Forrest incident when it was never ever a pen but maybe they wanted to highlight the VAR process there.

Also no issue with ref talking to players and warning not to tackle - think it's pretty common. Issue there was VAR and ref missing a blatant foul.

The fact Willie Colum is the head of refereeing in this country tells you everything about the standard of officiating.

Did they speak about why the Aberdeen defender didn’t get a straight red (not even a booking 😂) for deliberate hand ball v Ross County.

It stopped the ball going in the net.

Im the same I thought he came across very well, I think we need to see things like a ref being sent down a league when they make mistakes to at least show that there is a cost to it, although possibly not a decision that merits going down a league the ref missing the obvious foul on the county player whilst being heard talking rangers guy through the game can’t really just be brushed over by saying we’ve coached him now, that cost a team a goal in the end no matter what he’s saying about phases of play he calls that correctly the game stops and the balls at the other end of the pitch

The handball incident in the Hearts v Rangers game is a penalty. The ball hit the elbow which made his body bigger, the rest of the arm was accross the body the arm made the his body bigger to front and not the side of the body. He did not explain what directive has been given to the refs in relation to the change in the interpretation of the handball rule.

Great idea and thought the content and discussions were good. On the decisions thought it nonsense the Rangers v Ross county decision was a goal and as for the referee effectively coaching the rangers player how bizarre was that. Didn’t think Aberdeen Killie was a red and if it was how the heck was the Ndaba one not as met every criteria and imo was a much wilder challenge.

Ndaba one was imo much worse

Not awarding the penalty in the Dundee derby was a shocker.

Exactly what VAR is for. To point it out in the review weeks later is embarrassing.

I thought it was just as bad too and feared he had done Miller some serious damage, didn’t even seem to be a VAR review of it which was strange when there's no doubt like the other one it was dangerous play .

Ref. "Tav, Cyrille away you go" to Killie players it is "Away you go lads" Knows the huns by their first names but not Killies! Must watch the currents more often!
The "don't tackle him" totally ignored by our head of reffing!

Not pointing it out would be more embarrassing.

It’s maybe a bit much to ask in play however some sort of retrospective action would be good. I imagine refs have some sort of video review after each game.
