Do we know if Hoilett will be able to be on the bench this weekend and potentially make his Hibs debut? Really hoping so, could be a real impact player if he picks up where he left off..

Youan posted one of these drone videos of training and name checked Hoilett in it. It was kind of hard to see who was who in it, but I assume he did something good in it :greengrin. Would like to think he won't be too far away on that basis.

Cheers , be good if we had both of them available .

I think we need to get either him or Youan in the team on Saturday to offer more threat from that left hand side. And just to try and lift things a bit.

Would be good to have him and/or Youan to come off the bench if we need a wee spark in a tight game. Even better if we could get half an hour in the legs when we are 4-0 up and the game is won.

Hoilett and Gayle to grab a brace each and I can pretend I'm 20 something again

Gayle, Hoilett, Youan, Myko, Bowie...
Let's be honest here, that's some brilliant fire power right there that if any other team in the league had we'd be very envious of. I think we're gonna do better than some people think this season.
Kwon and Triantis in the middle, Newell with a new lease of life. Really hoping it all clicks this weekend and we give Levein a spanking!

Hoilett played with Sol Bamba at Cardiff.

Hope we can keep him fit. Brought a lot to the game in the second half with some clever touches and composure in the right moments. Looks like he has a cracking delivery as well.

Reminded me of the time during wee Russell's first game when he just pulled the ball out of the air and killed it dead - hadn't seen skill like that for ages at ER!

There was a pretty loud gasp in the crowd. Can’t wait to see how he does this season.
Amazing what a win can do for you.

Was pleased with the signing when we made it, but was honestly so impressed with that 45 minutes. He's so good on the ball. Just constantly in good space and think in the whole half he maybe lost the ball what, once, with a pass?
You can tell he's played at a higher level. Can't wait to see him play again.

He fitted into the side very comfortably and looked very much a player who will start regularly.
An encouraging debut and I’m looking forward to watching more of him this season.
Not a players defences will enjoy playing against.

Was thinking Stevie Archibald myself but yes Russell Latapy world class levels of skill and composure was expert at shielding the ball laying off the ball and playing in others sending over a tempting cross ball and able to manoeuvre himself into position gliding past opponents to get a shot or two away I can only remember him giving the ball away once
Cannae wait

So composed and the quality is so obvious
Unlike players like Elie who are dangerous but don’t always look like they know what they’re doing or are 100mph, he looks like his decision making is very good
Think Myk and Gayle will benefit a lot from his passing, crossing and vision

He’s a class act. Hibs have taken some criticism for signing him when he was injured but IF we can keep him fit he’s will be a huge player for us.

One worry would be he is likely to get rough treatment. Three of their players booked for challenges on him with Holt challenge a complete cheap shot which is typical of him. Absolute quality and such an entertaining player to watch.

Referees get little credit on here, which is not surprising, but here was a referee recognising what was happening & quickly dished out 3 yellow cards. Only thing that annoyed me about Walsh was why he tolerated Holt & Smith being in his ear throughout the game.

I really did not know much about him previously. However, really impressed by the skill level he showed today. Could be a player who can make a difference for us in this league.

He was very very good given how little game time he's had. Night and day compared with Youan.

He was excellent.
Looked very sharp and still has good pace for a 34 year old, in addition to his obvious technical ability.
Looking forward to seeing more.

It's funny how quickly you can tell why some players have played at the highest level. It's not even anything extraordinary sometimes, they just do the simple things really well.

He is exactly what we have been missing. Composure and drive. Knows when to hold and knows we need that quick pass or drive forward.

What is the actual rule about a keeper retaining the ball in his hands? At one point when 0-0 their keeper was meandering around his penalty box ball in hand for absolutely ages, frustrates the hell out of me. What equally annoys me is that I couldn’t see any of our players/coaching staff calling it out. They wasted time at every opportunity when ball out of play and players going down. Couldn’t believe it when it was only 2mins extra time.

Agree with this.
Having a great touch is such an advantage in this league. You see so many players that struggle so much to get the ball under control that their options are limited by the time they're able to lift their head.. which invariably leads to passes back to the half way line etc. Hoillet had the ball under his spell very quickly as he has great feet and it seemed to give him options- and he invariably picked the right one.
Really praying this guy can stay fit.

Exactly what I was thinking. Youan clearly has bags of talent but very telling the difference in quality going forward when he went off and Hoillet came on.
Within minutes Hoillet used his body really well to take on a pass, get a sight at goal and pass to a colleague to create a great chance. He hardly gave the ball away and looked dangerous time and time again.
