Thought big Marv was brilliant today.

The goal we conceded though was so poor. I don’t think Obita challenges Anderson as such and it’s more Anderson runs across him and wants contact. Clumsy if anything.

But no way should a 40 yard pass be splitting our centre halves and getting into the striker

The defence was better today, no real argument to make otherwise.

We have a mistake in us though and it's usually a bad one. For the last couple of seasons it's felt like if we don't score 2 or 3 goals then we won't win the game and that has carried in to this season.

Teams that do well tend to be the ones who can grind out a 1-0 when they need it. If we aren't capable of doing that then we won't be picking up the points we desperately need.

Obita has had a horrendous start to the season. Hopefully Cadden or Iredale gets a shot at LB after the break. We need to start acknowledging poor form with time out the starting XI for all players.

I dont think he's that good in the air, and wanders out of position a tad too much for me, which gets him wrong side of players too many times during a game.

He's got to remember he's a defender first.

Let's put things into perspective here. It was an extremely poor Killie side we were playing here.

As much as I'm delighted we never got beat everybody who has played them in the league so far has beat them comfortably.

Killie played with 10 men for about an hour in that game if my memory serves me right

Big Marv is a good defender. Let him do what he’s good at - heading, clearing & tackling and he will be fine. He’s not a ball playing centre back.

But between them all, someone will make a mistake. O’Hora got away with one in the second half not too dissimilar to last week, misjudged the ball and let them in behind him.

In the first half there was a point where he was really deep with Anderson I think pressing him and he had a pretty simple square oass to Bursik or even O’Hora.

He never fancied the risk and actually ended up doing something more risky by turning back out past Anderson and launching it

Even if nobody is covering, steamrolling into the back of a player in the box, who isn’t even through on goal is not better than the alternative. I really can’t conceive what he was thinking.

this is what I was alluding to earlier.

Our defensive shape needs to be so much better than for a pass from the half way line to split our central two defenders to the extent the striker manages to take a touch into the box


O’Hora chucks out quite a leg in an attempt to get something on it.

Obita spins round and as Anderson runs across him he’s really careless and clumsy by bundling him over. Even more frustrating as you can see Ekpiteta has more than covered and Anderson will struggle to score from there

The one thing that worries me is the ball down the sod of O’Hora. Think it all comes from him playing on the wrong side but I think we’ll still see teams get chances due to it.

All though I don't we where troubled to much yesterday, defence was fine, CB's delt with everything and Obita and Cadden both played well.

We've moved on from the previous two games before yesterday, still disappointing we really should be in 3rd place today.

Will be a big test next time out!

A Craig Levein away fixture will never offer the best test of a home defence, but concentration levels were better and a clean sheet will do confidence levels no harm.

Levein should appeal to the football authorities that referee didn’t play on until the opposition got their obligatory late goal but perhaps that only comes into play if the game is a draw or Hibs hold a one goal lead?

Were clearly targeting that early second half he also isn't the quickest. He needs to be more alert to that as does Marvin to also get across to cover.

I think big Marv will become a cult figure at the club, he is a good defender who's skills are kicking it and heading it, he's starting to play how i thought he would.

He's a unit and quick too, just let him clear his lines if nothing easy is on, and he will be fine, shades of big Daz about him.

Thought both were poor first half not getting tight enough giving the ball away not stopping crosses. Cadden really needs to practice heading a ball looks really uncomfortable doing it and one in our box first half completely misjudged it. Miller likely to come in for Rangers i would have thought.

Better protection from midfield helps. It makes a big difference to the shape at the back if you are not worried about the ball coming through the middle unchallenged.
