It was good to see the club put out a statement yesterday. Though was thinking it would be great to see something directly from the fans as well. E.g:

1. Making a banner for Killie game along the lines of “We stand with you Elie - no to racism”. Anyone good at these kind of things?

2. Some kind of open letter to Elie from the fans. Like an e-letter where fans can add their names or leave comments of support. Maybe something KP could assist with?

I’m sure he’ll get a good reception next time he plays (if he doesn’t leave today) but just an idea and happy to help out with organising something.

Great idea. Whether racism or just sheer ********ry, some of the stuff he's been sent on social media is abhorrent.
Moaning faced bell ends often seem to shout the loudest so would be good to let Elie know that the majority of Hibees are decent folk and support him and appreciate his talent - regardless of whether he stays or goes this would be a good idea.

A nice idea. I'd think there will be many wondering how to contribute. Ideally, the Club would be the organisers and let us know whether we chip in on gofundme or how else. As the OP says, it's not about whether Elie stays or goes, it's about how we see him as a fellow human being. Worthy of respect? Damn right!

Let’s show out rejection of racism and support our players in these times.

More disappointed by the lads age. We know we have the odd racist in our support. That's a societal issue. Mind you, I'm hearing that a lads phone was taken out of his hands by a 15 year old. Do we know for sure that THAT boy is a Hibs fan?

But the fact that a youth is slinging this stuff in a multicultural country in 2024 breaks my heart.

The vast majority of racists I've encountered were ugly unfit men over 50 with a low IQ and who will end up in a nursing home ahead of time reeking of pish.

I've always been proud of our immigrant beginnings and that the organisation Football Lads and Lassies Against Fascism (FLAF) here in Scotland has been powered by Hibs fans.

I'd happily contribute to a banner and I'm sure others would too..
