Nice pub with "function room" recommendations

Got my sister in law looking for a Leith or Central Edinburgh located "gastropub"-esque place with a properly separate "function room" to use the probably old fashioned term for a birthday party where wee kids will be present (it's not a kids birthday party though, it's hers)

Any recommendations from recent experience?

Nice food is a "requirement"

Depending on how many there’ll be, The Raeburn has a private room with a private bar. Child and dog friendly, think the room would prob fit 40-50. Food is really good and there’s a kids menu.

What sort of capacity regarding numbers do you need?
The Golf tavern has decent food and a private function room though I’m not sur about children. They can cater for 35-40 if I recall correctly.

The Granary has a couple of decent function rooms, not sure if children are allowed though.

I would second this recommendation if the Stockbridge location works. Raeburn private area is great. :agree:

Plus if the weather is not bad then they have the outside area people can mill about in too.

The outside bit has a massive canopy and heaters when it gets cooler so it’s great at all times regardless of the weather :agree:
