Now with the Kwon signing , have we ever had more players in our team six foot or over before? , not only good to have defensively but you’d think that it will increase our chances from scoring at set pieces too.

We are now looking like a team that won’t be easily bullied physically on the pitch which is good .

You would think so, but how bad is our set piece delivery.

Boyle and Newell on either side have typically been poor. Don't really want to remind people about Newell's free kick in the first half, but that was so bad.

junior Hoilett is excellent at delivering a set piece

I’d say that those recent (admittedly poor) efforts from Boyle and Newell are unusual.

Towards the end of last season I thought we looked quite dangerous from set pieces, with notable good deliveries from both Boyle and Newell.

It’ll do them no harm to have a few big lads to aim at.

no idea mate, but I’d be very surprised if he’s not ready to play some minutes this month.

I think Griffiths was the last player we had that could fire in a head height corner. Those floated jobs by Newell and Boyle do my head in.

The building blocks are there for sure, the signings are helpful rather than hopeful for a change. I’d still like to see a big bruiser of a centre half signed for cash cold hard cash!

How I long for zitelli type corners

Hands down they were the most exciting corners

A Watford player scored direct from a corner on Saturday. When I saw that I was dreaming of a Zitelli type corner for Hibs these days.

Some were bullied by smaller Celtic players last Sunday.

Every corner should be treated like a shot.

Those things used to set off NORAD's air defence detection warnings.....

I’m not sure I call it being bullied tbh , unfortunately I just thought we were just outclassed by far better players. Even the substitutes they made would probably all be first team players at us .

The challenge on Carter Vickers by Bowie was the only time I saw a Hibs player use any physicality in that game.

Beaten by skill and speed. Qualities we are sadly lacking in at the moment.

You might be right , just thought we were basically chasing shadows in the first half tbh , rumours Celtic are lining up a player that will cost them between 6 and 10 mill , Idah costing 9.5 mill which shows the gulf that now exists unfortunately.

I agree with your original assertion that with bigger players we should not be getting bullied as we have been soft in that respect. We have been poor in protecting the ball using the body. Want to see more 50/50 challenges going in our favour.its not about the value of the player it's about good coaching, we have been poor in this area against teams in the league with lower budgets than ours.

Still laugh at the photo of 5’3” Josh Nisbet and 6’4” Usain Bolt standing on the touch line together coming on for their Central Coast Mariners debut. (Would post it but technically inept).

Obvious which one would turn out to be the better footballer.

I was thinking the same thing. Height, strength and physicality are so important in the modern game. Remember thinking we looked like a team of midgets compared to Aston Villa last season.
