been saying this for months, hes gone from being good to being average. Cant seem to finish the way he used to.
Still pretty quick, but no longer the star man.

He will be able to take his pick of any A-League team. Probably his level now that his legs have gone.

Should have let him go, he did F all last season and looks the same this season. No doubt picking up a decent wage as well.

Not interested in being here anymore. Sooner he goes the better.
Like he’s not even trying anymore. So so sad.

It certainly did along with Welsh doing nothing to try and stop the shot. Therein lies the difference in attitude between them and us. St Mirren were second best for the first half but the manager got them up again for the second half and their aggressive attitude was too much for us. We are at a very low point right now but only real hard work will get us out of the mess.

Boyle? Easily up there as one of if not the worst for us today. I'll admit there's plenty other contenders, especially for that second half.

Boyles only asset was his pace. He never has been a particularly good footballer but his pace carried him in this league. Now he's lost some of it he is getting found out. Needs to be moved on. Passenger today and the one chance he did have he fluffed big time.

Worrying thing is he had three good chances today. The one on one was the main one, he had a shot in their box at 0-0 where he was too slow to get out his feet so the defender blocked it then he had a third one that he ended up passing back to their keeper again.
So far off it today it was hard to watch.

Cost us the game with lazy defending and absolutely woeful attempts at finishing.

Very much part of the problem at the club just now imo. Been hopeless for months, yet folk start polls about letting Newell go.

He was as bad as anyone today. Still hasn't cut out the diving either. A move to Australia sooner rather than later might be best for everyone.

I would have had serious discussions with him as soon as that Australian interview went public
Clearly would move tomorrow
Any player not committed - we should be moving on
His cover up this week on sky saying it went out of context etc

Had a good pre season. And started well for first 15 today same as everybody else.
Huge disappointment thereafter. 2 great chances. 2 very poor finishes.
Him and Newell are our senior players. Our leaders and both let us down today

Boyle really let us down today. Didn’t track his man for their first goal and completely fluffed a golden chance to rectify it and bring us back to 1-1. Around that he was generally gash all game and should have been hooked instead of Rudi.
I love the guy, but he’s been a big disappointment since he returned from Saudi. The pace is waning and he doesn’t look as interested anymore either. If there is a team in Australia willing to pay us a decent fee, we should cash in now.

He was personally responsible for some pretty awful significant moments in the match - missing chances and going to sleep for the first goal.
Not wanting to downplay that, as it was hugely consequential to the way the game panned out… but his general play was decent and I still thought he had more potential to be part of the solution than the problem.

I don’t think he did go to sleep for the first goal?
Look like he signalled and passed his man on to NMW?

100% this. The guy runs past him and he just lets him go. Could see it a mile off.

Clubs in Oz are not allowed to pay transfer fees. If he leaves we will need to cut him loose.

Beating his man and shooting were his main attributes. He can't do either now. Warning signs have been there for a while but today was really worrying.

Yep. The first goal was chronic, on his/Miller's watch. It changed everything from there on in.
Saw some folk asking why Cadden came on - that right side of the team had gone completely to pot. Their sub at LB was all over them. First half, Tanser had been lucky to still be on the pitch. Boyle and Miller had both caused problems. Half time came and they both looked completely off the pace.

Boyle did pass him on, which is fine. The problem is there is a huge space for the St. Mirren gadgie to run into if he gets past Mariah-Welsh. Boyle needed to use his heid, see the danger and fill the space.

its tiresome but the club neees to get a grip.
that said I do wonder if MacPherson listens to himself or reads his words?
He was part of the board that appointed and sacked Sauzee (after listening to Sir Alex advising in a talk against rookie managers). Maloney was before his time but SDG is here we go again. It’s either a bold move or an arrogant one…

Why? Cos it's Martin Boyle? If that comment was made about a couple of other players it would be deemed fair. Not harsh in the slightest imo.

Its harsh to say he has never kicked a ball for us since he came back. He was very good start of last season (eg both Luzern games) and was good generally up until his Penalty miss v Hearts. Killie win at home he ran half the pitch to set the goal up, Dons at home his pace set up Ventes goal, St Mirren he won us the LC quarter.
At his age though a decline is inevitable for that type of player and today's performance was worrying.

We told him he was free to find a new club before the start of the season. Obviously with the wage he is on he'd have to take a decent hit.
Clearly not the player he was but low down our list of issues at the moment.
