Prior to Gordon's death last year he had expressed a which to have his ashes scattered at Starks Park. His wife Diane contacted Raith to see if it would be possible, Raith readily agreed, Di returned from Australia late July,
and this afternoon I was privileged to attend a short ceremony where Diane scattered his ashes. Raith should also be commended for arranging hospitality for Diane and her guests.
Gordon, after all his travels has returned to the football stadium he loved best.
RIP Gordon.

Gordon was a Hibs supporter and known to some who post on here from his Edinburgh days and playing for Penicuik, Mick O'Rourke springs to mind,i seem to remember 2 or 3 others who knew him personally.

That’s a very heart warming tribute mate and well done to Raith Rovers for being so supportive and accommodating to the family. Their website did publish a lovely tribute to him on his passing.

Glad it went well, I’m sure it was an emotional day for all.

Thanks for that, Gordon was my next door neighbour here in Kirkcaldy so got to know him that way plus when Hibs were away from home I'd go to Starks Park for football fix and watch the wee man.
Today his best pal at Raith, Ronnie Duncan, has come down from Dingwall to be there also Alex Rae of Partick Thistle fame, league cup final win against Celtic, so a sad but happy day for folk of my age.

Knew Gogo and his family well. Played for my dad's football team. Went to the junior Cup final to watch him. Good on Raith to do that for him Mick O'Rourke was his next door neighbour.
