Funnily enough I was having a chat with John Rowbott ham, my neighbour, about referring in the Euros and no Scottish refs involved, he said one of the problems today is the number of young refs being fast tracked through the system, they know the rules back to front, every which way, but totally lack common sense and man management/people skills.

Not disagreeing with his point but it is kinda predictable that an older retired guy (in any industry) thinks that the current generation aren’t as good and have it easy these days.

To a degree your right but as he said Scots refs don't get international gigs anymore as they are not perceived to be up to scratch not the case in his day.
