View Full Version : SOL before Kick Off

With the Celtic game coming up we should be ramping up the atmosphere by having SOL before kick off. Liverpool and Celtic ramp it up having YNWA before kick off. When SOL is played after the game apart from cup finals a lot of fans are heading for the exits. Also it will drown out the Old Firm and Hearts fans before the game starts. With the singing section moved to behind the goals it gets the whole home support behind the team as they come out onto the pitch.

Already a bit like that for me. Love when we sing it, genuinely nothing will beat it. But still think it should be saved for real big occasions. Not after every derby win or OF win etc. Those shouldn't be big occasions.

Though I know the players love it as well so I guess I can see both sides.

Teenage kicks worked a treat
SOL can only be used for how it’s currently used

We need a new teenage kicks

God know's they're few and far between! And there's few better feelings for a Hibs fan than beating that lot.Agree it shouldn't be played after beating the old firm, unless its a cup final.

That's what's it like after games when it's sung. I was only proposing that we do it before the old firm and Hearts games when it's a full stadium. Remember the days when it was GGTTH before kick off. Its quite flat before the start of matches at Easter Road thought Teenage Kicks was awful.

Can be both, YNWA is.YNWA is a bit meh before games, certainly at Celtic Park. Its over-used and over-played, and suffers as a result. Fans just going through the motions without really feeling it.

Nicking the song of another club is stock behaviour for those professional celebrators. It sounds utterly phoney. Leave them to it.

We played it as the teams walked onto the pitch for the Wotherspoon derby. Goosebumps as they timed it absolutely perfectly, teams walked out the second the chorus started.

A definite no. Only when we have cause to properly celebrate, and it's well worth the wait anytime that happens...
Or...

When we have a massive massive game , say we are playing the darts at home and the winner goes 3rd.. then we could play it then before the game..

It's a time and a place thing... Those who know will know..

We should have Short Songs by the Dead Kennedy's

22 seconds long, they wouldn't even be all on the pitch by the time it finished.

And when we're getting humped at Villa Park. 🙄That wasn't played over the tannoy though that was fan led by nearly 3000 Hibs fans at a packed EPL stadium, which is a very rare thing. It was, despite the result, tremendous and enhanced the image of the club hugely, going viral across various social media platforms.

Think we should give it a try out as before the kick offs at home as the atmosphere is quite flat before a big game from our fans. If not SOL something to get the fans going. Sick of hearing away fans louder than the home fans at matches at Easter Road.

Not sure what you mean. When its sung after games celebrating a big win, there’s barely a person that’s left their seat. So what do you mean by that first sentence?

So what do you mean by that first sentence? The whole stadium (minus yams) there after Spoony sunk the Jambos - the whole place was bouncing from pre match to post when we thrashed them when Holt did his “hulk tumble”. It usually plays immediately-ish on full time.

Been in the west and East when it's been played and there are people who have left and are in the concourse when the music starts. That's not the same as a 'half empty stadium' though. There will always be some people who leave right on the final whistle for whatever reason. Hi guys,

I am indeed in the forum and taking note of the feedback (as we always do). There are plans to change things up again for the Celtic game and the season in general.

There’s a full production schedule on each game now with a team involved in what happens on that. I noted the comment on Nero, we haven’t ran out to that in about four or five years. We do feature the track though, we have been running out to Eric Prydz Every Day for the last two years with features of Born Slippy for the big screen production put together at stages also.

As a team we are never going to keep everyone happy and everyone will have their favourite tracks relative to favourite memories at specific moments.

I’ll keep everyone updated and continue to be engaged when possible,

Keep the suggestions coming and I’ll feedback.

Sorry to disagree, but The Silencers are rock solid Celtc. I never liked us playing that. Not that it's not a nice tune, but if it's not a Hibbie band, I'd rather it wasn't a Scottish band.

Think you have been doing a great job for the big matches pre game, utilising the screens, pyro etc. Born slippy works so so well for walkout on those big games and was a great choice.

I'd consider dropping the Eric Prydz track though, i might be wrong but it never really strikes the right chord and fans feel no connection to it.

I think the suggestion of The Silencers - I can feel it is a great one. Proper football song. Teenage kicks or Lust for life good too.

Keep up the good work:aok:
