Haven't been on here in ages because I was blocked by Cloudfare - anyway, I sent an email earlier today and voila, I can get access again. If an admin fixed the issue then thank you - as much as I bitched about some of the posters on here before I couldn't log on any more, I missed the Hibs chat and it's good to be back....

I had it for weeks on my phone and couldn't get into hibs.net at all then suddenly it disappeared. Never had a problem on my laptop.
I had it for about a day, but since the site has come back the emojis don’t work, and the ability to put something in bold etc has disappeared

Mine came back in increments. I was shut out completely since early May. Nothing on my phone till last week. around mid-June I could see the main page, but couldnt read any posts, then I could read the posts, but couldn't login, then early July all was good. But thats two outages in two years. What's causing it is unknown to me, but i've done nothing my end. Praying it doesn't happen again. .net is always my go to site when I can't be bothered reading the news

Yep, that's basically what happened to me over the last 2 years. When it happened the last time the only way I could even view hibs.net was through a link in Facebook but I couldn't log on to hibs.net when I did that. Had no problems using it on my laptop at all though, as I said. Weird.

Got some help from one of the admins today and I'm back again too. Got back on last week then booted off again and fixed again today.

No idea what cloud fare is but I can't get on the transfer thread, not ideal when that's the only one I'm really looking at, and no I don't have any ideas who we are signing 😪

I’ve been mostly off since last week due to error 520 and cloudfare state the problem is down to . net ( currently can’t use emoji)s
Is there something I can do to rectify ?

Was broken on Chrome for me for a long time, fixed last week, broke again yesterday then fixed now broken again :greengrin. I cleared the cache's but still broken on the computer and phone using Chrome. It does work with Edge though so I can at least log on.

I can log on (i use my phone) but have clear the cache virtually everytime I log on though.

It's back on Chrome. Fine on Edge so far. Definitely a.net issue based on the screen of death you get

On Chrome try this.
… -> settings -> privacy -> delete -> advanced -> all time -> tick site settings and hosted app data

Getting a lot of server too busy or server not found messages on my laptop at home since around 8pm last night but works fine on Tapatalk app.

I cant get access either from my phone through cloudfare says a Host error been like that for days.getting access through my laptop that appears fine

Cheers. Worked for me once I realised that delete meant browsing history.

It's not the browser cache that's the problem but rather the cookies.
Cloudflare is a security service that sits between us, the punters, and the hibs.net server. Whoever hosts hibs.net will be paying cloudflare to keep them safe from malicious attacks.
Error 520 covers a multitude of cases where cloudflare steps in and rejects traffic between the punters and the server.
Based on the symptoms - it stops folk logging in and it usually goes away if they delete site cookies, I reckon it's due to a buildup of advertising cookies making the overall cookie size in the affected punters' requests to Hibs.net exceed cloudflare's maximum.
The obvious ways round it from the punter's end are to delete private data from the punter's browser OR (and this bit might cause this post to get deleted) use something that adds on to your browser and prevents the build up of the kind of cookies I may have previously mentioned, if you catch my drift, an Appropriate Bit of Punterkit perhaps?
Apols in advance to the site admins if this is considered crossing the line, but this is obviously causing repeated headaches for many.

I have now been caught in the web too. no longer able to access on edge on the PC so have had to switch to Chrome. Tried deleting cookies but had no success with that, will see if it clears tomorrow.

The thing about the error is it seems to be a bit of a catch-all for a number of different scenarios. So could be cookies for some but not others I guess.
Thankfully I just noticed this thread. This has been driving me crazy for days with the error 520 on 2 tablets in both Google and Safari, but can access on my laptop and mobile.
I will try the options mentioned on here when I finish work.
I original posted on the Technical Issues Forum thinking this sort of stuff would be on their.

Had to give up on chrome just cant get in. Using a different browser ( duckduckgo)
I am an ignoramus when it comes to IT issues, but is this not a Hibs.Net issue seeing so many are affected by the same, or similar problem.
If so, can who ever looks after our server wave a magic wand and these problems go away.
I am sure I am being far to simplistic but this is bugging me to the point that I may be getting divorced if I do not shut up about it at home.
It also seems to be a fairly recent problem, so what, if anything, has changed to cause it.

Sorry everyone and thanks for your patience.
We had an outage a few weeks back that left us with multiple problems. Our resident boffin has been working on them (in between doing the job he gets paid for) but fixing some of the issues has revealed other problems. It's kept him busy to say the least.
The Cloudfare issue should settle down soon. We know it's a pain having to delete your cache / swap browsers etc. but please bear with us. Steps are being taken to remedy things including a planned software up grade.

I was able on my phone to get on through Edge when blocked through Google.
