Still not sure what the point of this joker is.

Nothing to criticise him for today imo.

His name shouldn’t be brought up every time we have a bad result.

He probably would have scored one of the chances 🤣

Staggering that any club would go near him💚

We are better without him for sure💚

Put a good spin on his time at Hibs. He didn't technically grow revenue I would say as he spent large sums which have yet to be recouped but he's another clubs problem now.

I mean, he DID increase revenue. Our turnover was £8.5million the year ended June 2021, he arrived in the July, our turnover the last financial year was £15.8million, an 85% increase.

Any major changes to revenue streams (upgrading hospitality for one) are going to have outlays, only those on the board will know the timescales for when the costs will be covered.

He won’t have the same remit at Luton as he did with Hibs as the role will play to his strengths, which definitely are off the field and not on it.

Not going to re-write history - his skillset was to bring in and increase our revenue, which he did and you can’t deny ER as a stadium has had significant upgrades thanks to BK. Yes he annoyed people and yes our upturn in fortune coincides with him leaving (likely a coincidence), but good luck to the guy.

After Leeann and Mathie left Ron Gordon lost the experience of managing the football operation. Then he gave it to his son to play with. It must have been a nightmare for Ben building up the commercial side of the club only to watch Ian mess up the football side.

In the end, Ian backed off, Ben brought Malky in, who brought in SDG. They both held firm against Bill Foley in backing our cup hero.

To hold Kensell responsible for our previous lack of footballing prowess is harsh IMO. He wasn't in overall control as CEO.

:aok:

Too many people blame him for signing poor players, leading to poor on field performances. If MM was appointed at the same time as Kensell, things would probably have been significantly different.

Thumping financial losses, lots of posts on here of people hearing this and that at hospitality or events, garbage on the pitch for a good while, lots of “jam tomorrow” posturing, and too many headlines where he was the story.

It’s quite possible that in all of this that he was completely innocent in it all and/or not responsible for what was going wrong and I’m sure that will be the case but since he’s left us the “back of house” at the club feels so much more slick and professional, and the team on the pitch has become the talking point within Hibs and further afield.

I’d be a liar if I were to say I am anything other than delighted he’s away, or that I liked him. The role of revenue officer may suit him as it plays to his strengths.

Michael Stewart sums up some of his chat quite nicely.

He'll certainly increase the revenue of the tanning booths across Luton.

Ach I find it hard to get too bitter. He's gone, time to move on.

Like everyone there was huge shades of grey with him. He done some good and some bad. I think it was a difficult position for him to be in, essentially mentoring his own boss who was in way above his head leading up recruitment never mind de facto owning the whole club. That wasn't Kensell's decision and I'm 99% certain he wouldn't have had him in the former role had it been his decision.

The role at Luton seems tailor made for him, quite literally.
