I think clubs overestimate the appeal of a game against an English side, particularly at home. They maybe held more appeal back before football reached saturation point on TV when it was a chance to see some exotic players. Those days are gone though, you can watch EPL and EFL games quite literally 7 days a week now.

I also expect Hibs to play a fairly rotated side after 3 league cup games in a week.Other than potentially seeing Porto again, not sure if there would be a clause that means he has to play if available, there's nothing really that enticing about this fixture.

They are a bit of a shambles. More player flippers than a football club. Obviously playing us as part of the Porteous transfer. A nice wee freebee for the season ticket holders but can't see many folk paying to go other than tourists so won't be an earner for the club.

I've got tickets for both and will be there. Still pig sick after yesterday. The team SDG put out should still have won without breaking sweat and they didn't. That's not disrespectful that's reality.
I got the feeling as they warmed up there was an underlying WTF have we come to? on their faces. The pitch, the surroundings and all the other trappings of wee town Scottish football looked to have them unsettled. It really shouldn't have been a shock to most of them.

At least they weren't subjected to a temporary price hike for everything (aye we know what your temporary price stickers were for 🙄😂) and a lack of toilets for that size of crowd. Or maybe they weren't...

I appreciate you made your post before yesterdays line up / result, however in retrospect the issue I now have is either:

A) We played some of our weaker players yesterday to get minutes into their legs. The Watford game is where this should have been done, not yesterday.

Or

B) We played some of our weaker players yesterday to give our first team players a bit of a rest to avoid too many minutes for some early in the season. If this is the case they shouldn’t be getting more than a late sub appearance in a meaningless friendly.

Given this was a clause in the Porteous deal, we gave free tickets to ST holders for it, hospitality was cancelled and it hasn't sold well, there's a good chance this going to be costing the club money. That effectively means we've reduced the fee we got for Porteous. I hope we don't go putting clauses like that into any other player sales unless it is the like of Barcelona we are selling to (aye right we will be selling to a club like that).

You just go on and buy a ticket as you normally would for a single game. You then get the option of a digital ticket being sent to you. You don’t use your season ticket

The problem is we have no other options up front.

We still should have started strong on Saturday and changed when we could.

The league cup being used as pre season warm up is a nonsense but we can arrange bounce games for fringe players.

We created half chances against a really poor side. Never really got in behind them and the play through midfield was so slow that it allowed Kelty to pack the box every time we went forward. It’s no wonder our forwards were snatching at chances.
