Has anyone got experience of buying tickets for the Bundesliga? Fancy a trip to Dortmund or possibly Dusseldorf next season. Is it hard to get them?

Dussledorf was brilliant and really easy to get tickets.

They have a cheap section in the corner which is standing and cost us €13 a ticket, you get the train for free into the stadium train station for that as well. The rest of the ground had availability but was more like British stadium pricing.

Dare say that could change depending on who they are playing but the stadium is massive so I don’t think they sell out.

Is it hard to get them?In that region it's relatively easy to get tickets for Fortuna and Gladbach via their websites, unless it's a big game . Trickier to get tickets for Dortmund, Köln, Schalke, Leverkusen.

Don’t think Düsseldorf managed to get promoted did they:confused:they lost the play off to Bochum, if they are in the 2 bundesliga then it’ll be easier to get tickets

I went to Bremen last year and it was excellent. At the time we bought tickets on Bremen's ticketing site similar to how you'd buy Hibs tix.

I go often to Dortmund , if your not on the database then it’s difficult, you can get them on viagogo etc but they cost a fortune

Free public transport on the day of the game and until 6pm the day after. Beer and kebabs in the ground, what more could you ask for?? Fans are very friendly too, wandered around Dortmund for 2 days with away colours on and got zero hassle. Would 100% recommend!!!

Really enjoyed Koln a few weeks ago for the Scotland game. Beautiful place.

Thought the stadium was superb. The design of it helped make the atmosphere what it was. We were half way back in the top tier but it felt like you were right on top of the pitch.

I always thought it was a small stadium. That was until I went there for the Slovakia v Ukraine game at the Euros.

It is bloody massive. Easy to get to and well stocked with bars and eateries.

They just came up this season I think. Plus Düsseldorf is a cracking city for beers.

I’ve been to Bayern, Hamburg and Bremen.

The Hamburg and Bremen tickets I got by contacting the the club. The Bayern tickets I got from the Tourist office in Marienplatz in Munich.

One thing to note, is they aren’t cheap. There are a few thousand that are but there’s never any left.

It's a fantastic stadium* and so easy to get to.

Sadly they weren't promoted last season but, on the plus side, that means you'd have no trouble getting a ticket.

* IMHO, the best stadium in Germany, but I realise not everybody shares my view on that ;-)

Slightly off topic as in non Bundesliga, we went to watch a Sparta Prague Czech league game. Was very cheap to get in (about 12 euros) and had a great time. Very boozy i can vaguely remember. Would recommend if you ever found yourself in Prague and in need of a footy fix.

Werder Bremen last season was a cracking experience. Train from Hamburg and it’s just a big long walk through the city centre and down the riverfront with pubs and stalls selling beer the entire way. Awesome stadium as well. Up there with the best fan experiences I’ve had (alongside PSG incidentally!).

My son and I went to see Bayer L last year. We bought the tickets directly from the club’s website. We flew Ryan Air to Düsseldorf Wiz, and stayed in Dusseldorf. If the ground you are going to is a certain distance, your ticket price also includes your train fare which was pretty cool. Düsseldorf is a good place to stay as there are quite a few clubs within easy train rides away. Was a great wee trip.

I would also recommend bohemians 1905 in Prague great little team with brilliant passionate fans, and also play in green and white!

Was years ago but we just got tickets at the San Siro on the day of the game (Milan vs Catania). You needed photo id to purchase tickets.

I wouldn't discount picking a random lower league game there tbh. Once when in Berlin I had a look at the fixture list and ended up going to Dynamo Berlin vs Chemie Leipzig (both ex-DDR top flight teams). Was only about 10 euros to get in and there were still at least 10,000 spectators and good atmosphere. I went into the Chemie end as they wear green and white.

I got tickets for Hertha Berlin v Wolfsburg a few years ago really easily on their website, stadium was only half full for the game but still a good experience. Have been to Werder Bremen and Hamburg for Bundesliga games but mates sorted the tickets , two great stadiums

I went to watch Club Bruges play Ghent in the Belgian super league. Very easy to get tickets and easy to get to from the South of England.

Was over for the Rugby World Cup and staying in Bruges (great place). My son pointed out that Bruges were at home the first night we were there.

Tickets bought and on we went. Techno playing before KO and pints of Jupiler in our seats throughout the game.

Not the San Siro (have been there with Scotland many moons ago), we went to watch Lazio v Fiorentina at the Olympico.

Bought tickets through their fan shop in town. Picked them up the next day. I’m sure it can all be done online now. You do need ID to get in though.

i'm off tomorrow to Amsterdam / Utrecht / Dortmund / Cologne (Wessling) / Dusseldorf for a trip. 2 nights in each but just passing through Amsterdam for the day....

Want to take in a match - my original plan was scuppered when Dortmund game was moved back to Friday night to accommodate match with those lesser greens (I'm in Utrecht Friday night\).

Struggling to find a game thats workable - which is hard to believe given how many clubs are in a 50 mile radius.

Any ideas ? (including eateries / pubs / attractions) :aok:

Any ideas ? (including eateries / pubs / attractions) :aok:Borussia dortmund II v 1860 München on Saturday. Arminia Bielefeld v Verl on Sunday, around an hour from Dortmund by public transport.

Gladbach and Köln are playing at home but it might be a struggle to get tickets and a longer trip.
