It's a decent start for us though. We don't have a real horror run of fixtures. There's a wee cluster in December/January but there are very winnable games in the mix.

Can't understand how it takes 9 games for us to play Celtic, Hearts and Aberdeen in the first round of fixtures and only 4 games in the second round. It's then different for the third run.

After last season I'm looking at that fixture list and can't see a single game I can think of as a 'gimmie' and that kind of sums up where we are as a club just now.

Some tests of character for any new guys as well if our first two signings are going to be typical. When you play in the lower reaches of the English system you are not going to be playing in front of 50 / 60 thousand in any game or a white hot derby game like Hibs v Hearts ... when you look at leagues 1 and 2 for 24/25 the biggest club out of the lot of them is probably Birmingham City.

I've always maintained that's why this league is a good place for some clubs to loan players to. 4,500 at Ross County one week, 55,000 at Celtic park the next, 15,000 at Easter road the next, then back to 5,000 at Dens Park. Keeping the same level of performance and attitude for all of them is a trick.

I’m not sure these things alternate year to year. We have 2x home games against Hearts, Aberdeen and Celtic so definitely can’t complain. If we then get top 6 it won’t matter anyway.

Really like RC away but not a Wednesday, usually stay for a weekend.
I say usually but can’t remember the last time I got there.

At the AST end of season thing Kensell said he'd got himself on the league fixtures committee as he wasn't going to accept us keeping getting winter midweek games up there. I know one last season was a rescheduled match but here we are again. There's always going to end up with someone having to go up there midweek but you'd think they'd be able to put in teams who are geographically closer for these situations. Likewise for County themselves if they are known the road midweek.

League seems to manage to rotate the entire calendar round 4 particular games a season 🤔
