With all the negativity regards the new seasons kit, I thought we could have a thread to allow supporters to get things off our chest.

As a supporter of this great club for over forty years, I’ve have to say that I’m a bit concerned at the direction the club is going and the really bad decisions that are being made.

Really poor decisions that have been made at the club over the last few years even I find difficult to get my head around.

So I’ll start from were I think things really started to go wrong.

The sacking of Jack Ross. Terrible decision!

Then we had to endure Maloney, Johnson and Montgomery. 😏
All bad decisions in quite a short period.

So we were all at the point of being suicidal when it comes to Hibernian and I think most supporters wanted us to head hunt a tried and tested Scottish manager ( a safe pair of hands )

What did we do? We went with another inexperienced manager.
To say David Gray’s appointment was underwhelming would be an understatement ( jury is still out )

The appointment of Malky! A section of our support were not happy!

Liam Fox was approached as SDG assistant and got KB’d 😳 allegedly
That should never have got out and had it been done properly then I wouldn’t have had to endure more unnecessary Jambo banter at work! 😡

The noise coming out the club from certain players who should know better is quite frankly depressing.

Rumours that our two best players won’t be here for very much longer.
A good happy club should be trying to keep all their best players but for some reason we tend to lose them at the first hurdle. Not great!

It's been pish for a while and last season was the icing on the cake. I genuinely believe this is now the start of the fightback. My expectations for this season are low but i think we'll see a bit of progression, something to build on.

It has been discussed to death already. It is the start of a new season and a new era in a number of ways so I don’t see the point in continually going on about this stuff.

So let it all out...Well Im sick of folk backing up their rants by saying its just the truth. Half the stuff you have posted isnt THE truth is just a belief, your truth backed up with no evidence. Rumours, noise, allegations, 'I thinks'.....And yes that what the messageboard is all about but dont say your fine to be negative because everything you say is true when that obviously isnt the case.

Most of this is valid. Although you will get criticism from some posters for it.

Until there is a tangible improvement on the park, at the moment, this forum is the only platform Hibs supporters have to express their frustrations and discontent. There has been loads of evidence in the last couple of years that the guys in charge at Hibs have clearly been unable to cut it and get an entertaining and progressive team on the park.

They have all but admitted it by finally appointing MacKay and to some extent, Marshall to key roles at the club.

The main problem just now is there is a fair bit of mess (moving on players/improving the profile of the club) to clear up before there is some positivity.

I'm probably one of the main critics of the club on hibs.net and I make no apologies for it. I'll admit it, at times my criticism can be disproportionate but at times I just don't recognise it as my club and it really frustrates me.

I do wonder how many chances we can give to our current ownership to get it right. But we are powerless.

I don't for one second question their wish to make Hibs successful, I just doubt their ability to do it. However, I finally do think they have had a look at themselves and decisions made over the last couple of years.

Same with sweeping generalisations like “every supporter must be feeling similar thoughts” (do you feel thoughts?) - You’ve no idea what every supporter is feeling or thinking. I don’t either as it happens, but I do know a few who would disagree with some of the opinions you’ve posted as ‘the truth’

Hoping under SDG we get back to the old Hibs way getting stuck in and start actually laying a glove on teams

Sick to death of just lying on our backs and getting our bellies rubbed by the likes of The Rangers Hearts and Aberdeen not forgetting Celtic

That 0-3 versus the Huns at home was unacceptable in fact the whole season was unacceptable

At least make them feel they have been in a game

I don’t think Monty won one game that really mattered FFS !

Oh and sign some Hibs class players and get this show back on road

Agree with everything you say apart from the appointments of Malky and Sir David. I think both are a step in the right direction, towards a few years of stability. Any pretensions towards regular third place finishes and swashbuckling football need to be sidelined until we establish a solid core. THEN back to business as normal, being Scotland’s sexiest club 😎
