Was treated to Father's Day in hospitality today. On way to the ground we walked via Bothwell Street and over the bridge.
It closes tomorrow until beginning of September.
Let's hope Hibs have asked the league not to have home fixtures v OF or Gorgie lot (or even Aberdeen) in August 🙄😬
As always they'd just put our fans out their way to suit away fans. Probably have all us going down St Clair St and away fans along Albion Road.

How many people can honestly say that they ever heard of this bridge being referred to as the Bridge 'o' Doom prior to Bradley Welsh's interview with Danny Dyer?

It is actually deceptive.
Assuming all five of you are being honest, that is actually a very small amount compared to the amount of people that had not heard of it. You can count the amount of people that had not heard of it by counting the amount of people that did not reply.

How do you count the amount of people that did not reply if they did not reply ?

Ah sorry, so it is 6-3 to the people that had heard of it. Not 5-3 as I had previously made it.

You’re Edina Street. What would you know about goings on in Bothwell Street?

You are right. I did not even know that in the 50's there was a Street that ran between Bothwell Street and Elgin Street named East Thomas Street, despite the fact that when I lived directly above what used to be Turnbulls Bar on Easter Road, my back window looked out on to what would have been East Thomas Street.
For any historians here, I assume East Thomas Street was accessible by going underneath that little tunnel off Elgin Street?

How apt. I used to live on Easter Road itself - opposite what was the Four in Hand - for seven years in the 90s. My name is Thomas and never knew there was a street of that name in the area once upon a time 👍

Perhaps your parents did and named you after it!

East Thomas St was knocked down in the mid 70's. I remember visiting family there.
Also, never heard the Bridge of Doom term until Bradley named it on the Dyer programme.

You’re a wee bit out.East Thomas Street was on the other side of Easter Road. It ran between Brunswick Road and Elgin Terrace.

Yes and it was used as a Glasgow street by the BBC when filming Peter McDougall's classic play Just Another Saturday. Think it could have been the scene of the Orange March and the ensuing riots.

Yes. I remember the scene when a window was smashed by an Orangeman and the person looking out was injured.

Just seen a sign at top of Bothwell Street saying it’s closed until 18th August. That should be fun Next Sunday with Celtic at home.

There was East William Street there as well. I think it was Prince Regents Street that was used in Just Another Saturday
