OK, I know it's the DR! :greengrin

Says Gray still looking for an assistant and goalie coach, so Craig = first team coach.

Happy with Liam Craig as part of the coaching team.

Knows Gray well, comes across well, knows the club and seems to be a highly though of coach, managed the Queens Park reserve team who finished first.

Hopefully the delay in assistant is agreeing a fee with Accrington for Doolan 😅

I just posted on the David Marshall thread about it being important to have people that are qualified to do the roles and having done a wee check on Liam Craig's post playing career I can see he's got his badges plus a bit more. Part of the St. J coaching team that won both the cups and Callum Davidson took him to Queen's Park where they've been doing well. He's only been there a few months so early for him to move but obviously he's a big Hibs fan and played with David Gray.

Would be happy to have him back, hopefully a more successful time and connection with the fans too.

Callum Davidson certainly speaks highly of him too;

“Liam’s a great character,” he said.

“He’s very willing to learn. He’s one of those guys, you tell him to do something once and he’ll do it.

“Me, I’m probably a little bit grumpier, a bit older.

“Liam brings that bit of enthusiasm that lifts the spirits. He’s a really important part of the team.”

Yeah , pleased about Craig as you say ex player who was captain and knows the club. Wonder who he'll go for as goalkeeping coach . Any guesses on a ex Hibs keeper he might go for ? .

I thought Craig was a very limited footballer at a bad time for hibs on the whole.

Definitely had drive and fought and was in referees faces.

Something we have not seen in this Hibs team since Lennon imo.

They say teams reflect their managers personalities. Forgetting what Gray and Craig were like as players (both pretty decent imo), the both of them had terrific attitudes, if the team next season plays with the same effort levels and enthusiasm they both had, we’ll do alright.

We took a good attacking midfielder who scored some goals from St Johnstone and trued to make him a holding midfielder. Decent player and definitely has an attachment to Hibs. I know one if his neighbours and have met him myself. Decent guy as well

I liked him

Was a better player than some give him credit for and was a good presence around the Dressing Room

Scored a lovely goal against the Hun and a winner against Hearts took his Captain duties seriously going above and beyond

Looking for more of the same

Welcome back to the Holy Ground Liam

Edit :

Did not realise he Captained Ipswich Town to the FA Youth Cup

Also won a Scottish Cup and a League Cup with Saints

If I’m reading that correctly it suggests that Liam Craig is up for the assistant job rather than a coach?

“Gray offered former team-mate Craig the chance to become his assistant manager”

As for Samson, it wouldn’t be the first time, but I have no memory of him even playing for Hibs.

However, happy with what's coming along. Just up to Malky to get the players out and in and back them now.

I never saw him standing out as an exception in that pretty rubbish team you talk of .. however, he wasn’t faking it never or not trying. He was genuine. That stood out to me. So hopefully … he does better than the other genuine people we have had in positions that could improve us, but haven’t as yet.
